This map is pretty open, which means snipers can have a field day, so you'll want to be careful. ## Overview On de_port, you'll often see a sniper watching both Bombsite A and Bombsite B at the same time. Campers love hanging out in the spawn zones too, picking off enemies from way off without moving. Forget about using Flashbangs in the wide-open areas (except for the underground tunnels); they're pretty useless. HE grenades aren't much better, as players can easily dodge them. Smoke grenades can help, but people can just walk around them, making ambushes tough. Because there isn't much cover, de_port isn't super popular or balanced, so you won't see it on servers too often. ## Hot Spots ### Bombsite A Bombsite A has four water tanks and a gas container. You'll plant the C4 right in the middle. One of the water tanks has a ladder. A Counter-Terrorist sniper can climb up there and basically watch almost the entire map. Unless your team has already pushed the CTs out of the middle and alley, you might want to think twice about planting on site A. The bomb target is right in the open, making it super exposed. ### Sniper Tip Remember that water tank with the ladder? CT snipers love to get on top of it. From there, they can pick off Terrorists pretty much anywhere on the map, even over at Bombsite B. With some bunnyhopping or airstrafing, players can even jump to the other silos from the climbable one, though there's an invisible barrier at railing height. ### Bombsite B This spot is a decommissioned battleship. Honestly, players don't usually stick around here because there's not much cover. Plus, a CT sniper from site A can easily spot an exposed Terrorist carrying the C4. #### Tip If you're a Counter-Terrorist and you need to guard Bombsite B while also watching out for a Terrorist sniper trying to take over Bombsite A, you can use this specific spot to take them down. However, if an enemy sees you first, don't try this tactic; find another way in. ### Middle Snipers from both teams love to hang out here, so most players avoid it. Terrorists are usually hesitant to drop down from their elevated spawn zone because it's hard to get past a CT with a sniper rifle who's controlling the middle. Sometimes, though, a Terrorist sniper can lock down this area and prevent the enemy from getting through. Heads up: Terrorist bots on pistol rounds will always rush through here. Make sure to tell your Counter-Terrorist bots to guard this area, as they often leave it open if they don't see any enemies. ### Warehouse Snipers can easily lock down the main entrances here, but you can escape through an opening to the underground. Players might try to get to the warehouse using the underground tunnels to avoid snipers and reach Bombsite B.
