Learn how to attack and control Bombsite A in Counter-Strike: Source. Discover routes, smoke spots, and common CT angles for a successful T-side assault.
Bombsite A is generally considered the easier of the two sites for Terrorists (Ts) to access. It offers multiple entry points and opportunities to cut off Counter-Terrorist (CT) rotations with smokes. However, the bombsite has more angles for CTs to retake from, making post-plant defense more challenging.
Ts typically attack Bombsite A from three main angles: Aps, Quad, or Arch.
Attacking from Aps
From T spawn, you can reach A Aps by either running down Mid and turning right before Quad, or by cutting through the building on your right (Alt Mid). This route leads directly into A Aps, setting up a push towards Balcony. CTs can also access A Aps from Boiler, a room downstairs across from the T-side entrance. The rooms at the top of the stairs are separated by destructible wooden planks. Ts should clear these rooms before pushing Balcony to prevent wrap-around attacks.
After moving down the A Aps hallway, you'll be one doorway away from Balcony. CTs may boost onto Balcony, so it's advisable to use a flashbang before pushing. This flash can also blind enemies in Pit below and those watching Balcony from Pit.
Attacking from Arch or Quad
Following Mid all the way down brings you close to the bombsite. From here, you can attack via Arch or Quad. Smoke off the route you don't intend to use. If attacking via Arch, check Cubby (a small alcove before the corner), Arch itself, and Library for CTs. For Quad attacks, be aware of CTs in Boiler, Truck, Pit, Graveyard (an elevated path next to Pit), and on the site itself. While the Quad path is more direct, it presents more hiding spots for CTs to check before planting.
Alternate Routes and Tips
For a covert switch between Mid and Alt Mid, use the tunnel called Crawlspace. Look for grey dirt as you run up Mid and crouch to enter.
