Learn how to crush your enemies from the water in Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2! Master naval unit tactics, amphibious assaults, and land invasions for total victory.
Alright, so you've gotten the hang of the basics, and now it's time to really start throwing your weight around. We're talking about naval warfare here, and trust me, controlling the seas gives you a massive advantage in Red Alert 2. It's all about using the water to your advantage to punch holes in the enemy's defenses before they even know what hit 'em.
The Plan: Naval Supremacy and Amphibious Assault
Here's the game plan: we're going to build up a serious fleet. Start churning out a ton of Destroyers – these guys are your bread and butter for breaking through enemy lines. Don't forget to back them up with Carriers and Cruisers. The Cruisers are super important for taking out those nasty missiles from enemy Dreadnoughts, while your Destroyers can then focus on taking down the Dreadnoughts themselves. Now, this is crucial: you absolutely *have* to build some Dolphins. Seriously, these little guys are lifesavers. Not only do they have some cool sound effects, but they're the only thing that can reliably take out those annoying Squids. If you don't deal with the Squids, your Destroyers will get wiped out super fast. Dolphins also help take down those pesky Typhoons, so make sure you've got a good number of them ready to go. We're going to crush them all!
While your fleet is busy softening up the enemy, it's time to get ready for the ground game. Start building a bunch of Amphibious Transports, tanks, IFVs, GIs, and Engineers. Build as many as you can! Here's a neat trick: put a few Engineers into an IFV to create a Repair IFV – these are incredibly handy for keeping your ground units alive. Load up the rest of your IFVs with GIs. We'll be using these to deliver infantry right into the heart of the enemy base. To really speed things up and ensure a quick victory, train a few Tanyas. They're amazing at destroying buildings super fast, and that's exactly what we want.
Executing the Assault
Once your naval fleet has carved out an opening, it's time to bring in your transports. Load up all those Amphibious Transports and head straight for the enemy's shore. As you approach, be on the lookout for any submarines or other enemy ships trying to intercept you – protect your transports! Once you've landed, unleash everything you've got on the enemy. If your initial naval assault falters a bit, have your Carriers target anything they can reach to keep the pressure on. After you've cleared out their base defenses, bring any surviving ships back home to regroup.
Mopping Up and Scouting
If you're only facing a single enemy, after you've secured their base, grab a light vehicle like an IFV. Load it up with infantry – this is your scouting unit. Send it out to explore the entire map. If you need to, give it an Amphibious Transport for extra safety. This is especially useful against AI opponents, as they tend to garrison troops in houses. Humans will usually surrender before resorting to that, but it's good to be prepared for anything!
