Guide to Mission 10: Mirage in Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2. Learn how to defend Einstein's lab, defeat Soviet forces, and use the Mirage Tank effectively.
Alright Commander, welcome to Mission 10: Mirage! The Soviets are making a last stand in Germany, trying to get their hands on Einstein's super-secret lab. Your job is to push them back and protect that lab at all costs. Get ready, because this one throws some new toys at you!
Walkthrough
- 1You'll start near Einstein's lab with a small base and a German ally who's about to get overrun. Don't worry about saving them; they're toast. Immediately deploy your extra MCV and start building Prism Towers. Seriously, spam them. Then, pump out GIs – aim for 20-30 if you have the time. They'll help defend against incoming missiles while your towers deal with the heavy hitters.
- 2The Soviets will hit hard with Rhino Heavy Tanks and a ton of Conscripts. Your Prism Towers should handle the tanks, but the infantry swarm needs a different approach. Build about 4-6 Attack Dogs. When the Conscripts charge, unleash the dogs – they'll chew through the infantry surprisingly fast. Keep an eye out for Flak Troopers or Flak Tracks too.
- 3After that wave, expect V3 Rocket Launchers to start bombarding your base. Your Patriots will try their best, but use your Grizzly Battle Tanks to take out the V3s directly.
- 4Once that's clear, focus on building Chrono Miners to get your economy booming. Once you have a steady cash flow, add more defenses if you feel you need them, but honestly, the worst should be over. The Soviets might not even bother attacking after this point, which is weirdly convenient.
- 5Now, build a Battle Lab and get a Spy Satellite Uplink and an Ore Purifier going. Einstein will warn you about another attack, but it's weak – just a few tanks your Prism Towers will obliterate. Make sure you keep an eye on your power supply; you'll need it.
- 6Start building 5-8 Mirage Tanks and group them up. While you wait for the next Soviet wave, train 4 SEALs, an Engineer (grab a new one if you lost your starting one), and build a mix of Grizzly and Prism Tanks.
- 7When the final serious Soviet attack hits, send your Mirage Tanks to investigate. They're targeting V3 Rocket Launchers. Use all your tanks to focus fire on these launchers one by one; they should go down in a single hit.
- 8With the base secure, build a Night Hawk chopper. Use your Spy Satellite to scout the map – you'll see three Soviet bases. Your target is one of the smaller ones with a Nuclear Reactor. Its defenses are pretty weak.
- 9Time for a covert op! Load your 4 SEALs and the Engineer into the Night Hawk. You can't land right in the middle because of Flak Cannons, so find a spot on the perimeter. Once landed, have the SEALs take out any nearby Tesla Coils. Your Engineer needs to get inside the Nuclear Reactor building.
- 10While your troops are moving, start building a Prism Tower back at your base. Once the Engineer captures the reactor, have your Prism Tower target any remaining Tesla Coils. If you want to make it easier on your SEALs, try to sneak the Engineer in alone – sometimes the Tesla Coil won't fire in time. Keep building more Prism Towers around the captured reactor.
Tips
- The Mirage Tank is your new best friend, especially against infantry. Group them up for maximum effectiveness.
- Don't underestimate the power of Attack Dogs against large groups of Conscripts.
- Prioritize taking out V3 Rocket Launchers quickly, as they can devastate your base from afar.
- Capturing the enemy's Nuclear Reactor with an Engineer is key to winning this mission. Protect your Engineer at all costs!
