STR1 - Ghosting

Master the Ghost class in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Learn weapon choices, perks, and stealth tactics to effectively hunt snipers and make crucial kills.

To be an effective Ghost in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, you need to understand the role. A Ghost player uses silencers on all weapons and the UAV Jammer at all times. The Ghost excels at hunting down snipers and other high-priority targets, focusing on impactful kills rather than a high kill rate.

Weapon Classes: Ghosts can only use Assault Rifles or SMGs. Due to frequent close-quarters combat, a high Rate of Fire (RoF) is essential. For this guide, an SMG is recommended, specifically the AK-74u for its balance of power and range, superior to the Skorpion's limited magazine size.

Class Setup:

1. Primary: AK-74u silenced (IMPORTANT)
2. Side Arm: USP .45 silenced (IMPORTANT)
3. Equipment: 1 Stun Grenade, 1 Frag Grenade
4. Perk 1: Bandolier or Bomb Squad (depends on survival time)
5. Perk 2: UAV Jammer (IMPORTANT)
6. Perk 3: Steady Aim or Extreme Conditioning (depends on accuracy under pressure)

Ghosting Tactics:

• Stealth and Isolation: Ghosting requires you to operate separately from your teammates. Wait for them to advance, then move as far away from them as possible. Avoid unnecessary engagements and stick to less-trafficked areas.
• Engaging Lone Enemies: If you encounter a lone enemy, eliminate them quickly and quietly. Use a stun grenade first to incapacitate them for an easy kill.
• Hunting Snipers: Look for the telltale lone red dot on your radar, indicating a sniper. Proceed to their location immediately.
• Clearing Sniper Nests: Be cautious of Claymores upon entering a sniper's building. If you have Bomb Squad, locate and attempt to bypass them. If unavoidable, use your pistol to destroy a Claymore. Wait briefly for any guards or the sniper to return to their position, then eliminate them. Exit the building via a different route than you entered. This tactic is known as "icing the sniper."

Mastering stealth is the most crucial skill for a Ghost. By learning to move unseen and strike effectively, you will become a valuable asset to your team.
