Learn how to beat Russell Northrop in the 'Russell in the Hole' mission in Bully: Scholarship Edition. Get tips on using the slingshot and avoiding his attacks to win.

Alright, so Gary's gonna lead you into a bit of a trap here. Follow him, and you'll end up in a room with a big pit. Before you jump down, though, make sure you grab the Rubber Band from the north side of the room – it's item BAC-RB20. You'll want it!

Once Jimmy drops into the pit, it's clear Gary set you up. He's pitting you against Russell Northrop, the leader of the Bullies, and this is the mission called A. Russell in the Hole.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Russell has a health bar at the top of the screen. You need to deplete it to zero.
• He's big and strong, but you can even the odds if you got the Rubber Band (BAC-RB20) from earlier.
• You can't grab him.
• Hitting him too much at once will cause him to block and counter.
• His uppercut is too slow and leaves you open, so don't use it.
• The Super Slingshot is your best bet, and you can lock onto him easily.

Phases:

1. Early Fight - Ground Pound & Charge: Russell will be on one side of the pit, pounding the ground. Then he'll charge at you, trying to pin you against the opposite wall.
2. Later Fight - Chest Pound & Chase: After you've taken off about two-thirds of his health, he'll start pounding his chest like an ape and chasing you around the pit.

Strategy:

• Phase 1: When Russell pounds the ground, hit him with a couple of light shots from your Super Slingshot. When he charges, just move out of the way. He'll stun himself when he hits the wall. While he's stunned, unload a couple of charged shots. Repeat this pattern.
• Phase 2: When he starts pounding his chest, hit him with a couple of light shots. Then, let him catch you. When he grabs you, quickly tap the Y Button to perform a reversal – this actually injures him! After the reversal, hit him with a few more light shots while he's on the ground, before he gets back up. Keep repeating this pattern until his health is gone.

Beating Russell here is a big deal! It opens up the next chapter, BLY4. Chapter II - Rich Kid Blues. Plus, with the main gates to Bullworth Academy now open, you can finally explore the town. Dr. Crabblesnitch will warn you to stay out of trouble, but you know how that goes. A Prep will invite you to their Boxing Club later, but for now, you've got bigger things to worry about.

With the Academy gates open, you can now head into town. Two new sections of the Bullworth area become accessible: Old Bullworth Vale and Bullworth Town. We'll start with the western part, Old Bullworth Vale, which is connected to town by the North Bridge and the Dam, and to the Academy via the South Bridge. It's the biggest area, so let's break it down:

Old Bullworth Vale

This area is connected to Bullworth Town by the North Bridge and the Dam. It is also connected to Bullworth Academy via the South Bridge. Since this is the largest of the two areas, I will break it down into sections:

The Estates

This is the ritzy neighborhood in the north and northwest of Old Bullworth Vale. While the houses have numbers, there aren't any street names. For this guide, I'm calling the main road through here 'Estate Road'. It starts west of the North Bridge, loops around the Happy Endings Retirement Home, and heads south and west through The Estates before ending at a junction north of the Burger Place. The small dead-end street on the south side is the 'Vale Cutoff'. In the northeast corner, you'll find the Cemetery at Bullworth Church.

Shopping District

Located southeast of The Estates, this is the main shopping hub for Old Bullworth Vale. Here you'll find:
