Find all Legendary Sumi-E locations in assassins creed shadows, including the Legendary Macaque, Deer, and Tanuki, with specific seasonal and time requirements.

Legendary Animals: There are five Legendary Sumi-E in assassins creed shadows. These rare animals appear in specific locations, seasons, and are affected by the day/night cycle. Finding all of them unlocks the A Rare Occurrence trophy/achievement.

Legendary Macaque Sumi-E Location

  • No specific season
  • Found at night only

The Legendary Macaque can be found year-round but only appears at night. Travel to the Yamashiro region, north of Izumi Settsu. Head to the southeastern corner, east of Ogura Pond, and stay on the northern side of the river in an area called Little Leaf Glade. The Sarumaru Shrine, a marked location, is where you'll find it. Look for stairs on the western side leading up. Follow your compass icon, crouch, and move slowly to approach the largest of the three macaques. Observe and move closer until the outer circle shrinks, prompting Naoe to draw.

Legendary Deer Sumi-E Location

  • Spring season only
  • Found at night only

The Legendary Deer requires the Spring season and can only be found at night. Go to the Yamato Region, east of Izumi Settsu. Stay south of the river in the Yoshino sub-region. Head southeast until you find a shrine and a Jizo statue, then go east to stone stairs by a torii gate leading to Sakura Meadow. Approach quietly as Naoe to paint the Sumi-E.

Legendary Tanuki Sumi-E Location

  • Summer season only
  • Found only during the day

The Legendary Tanuki appears only during Summer and daytime. Travel to the Omi Region, east of Kyoto's Nijo Palace. Go east from Gion Kakurega, through the Hills of Meeting, to the town of Otsu. On the southeastern side of Otsu is Seta Bridge, leading to The Shimmering Fields. Head northeast, following the road, until you see a southern path with a gate flanked by two tanuki statues. This leads to Shigaraki Hamlet. If the conditions are met, the sumi-e icon will appear on your compass. In the hamlet, find a clearing. If the Tanuki isn't there, place a pin on the map and return after moving about 300 meters. Crouch and move slowly to approach.
