Return 2: The Heart

Alan Wake 2 Return 2 The Heart walkthrough: Track Nightingale at Cauldron Lake, investigate the Witch's Hut, and find the Heart at the General Store.

Walkthrough:

1. Follow Alex down the shortcut you created earlier.
2. Pass the FBC station and speak with Ilmo Koskela and Steven Lin if you wish. You can read a Maintenance Note inside the station.
3. Continue following Alex to the crime scene, which is flooded.
4. Examine the makeshift sacrificial altar and note the double triangle sign.
5. Examine the table for a clue.
6. Speak with Alex if desired, then head in the direction indicated by the triangles.
7. Follow the bare footprints, presumably Nightingale's, until you reach the water's edge.
8. Wade into the water and collect supplies from an emergency cabinet.
9. Follow the flooded path south past the Witch's Ladle sign until you reach the tree where the trail previously ended.
10. Examine the tracks on the tree and approach the shimmering area.
11. Boost your torch (R1) to burn away the darkness and reveal the Manuscript Page (4/56).
12. Backtrack to find the ledge leading to the Witch's Hut.
13. As you approach, Alex will radio to say he is checking something in the woods.
14. Examine the fuse box on the side of the hut and note the missing fuse.
15. Cross the bridge to the west and search blue boxes to find a working fuse.
16. Return to the hut and use the fuse in the fuse box to power it up.
17. Enter the hut to unlock the Coffee Thermos trophy and access the Break Room.
18. Manually save your game by clicking on the thermos.
19. Examine the Shoebox to find unlocked weapons and charms from previous playthroughs.
20. Examine the table with the coffee thermos to find the Manuscript Page (_Dark Poem 1_, 52/56).
21. Grab supplies from a cabinet drawer.
22. Search the shelves in the corner to find the Manuscript Page (_Saga Opens the Cauldron Lake Overlap_, 5/56).
23. Return to the Mind Place and open Robert Nightingale's profile. Select the Overlap topic.
24. Go to the Case Board, open the Murder at Cauldron Lake case, and place the collected clues against the Where Did Nightingale Go? question.
25. Place the Cauldron Lake Witch's Hut key image on the board to unlock the What Is the Ritual? question.
26. Place the manuscript clues against the new question to add Where is the Heart? and Words on the Heart?.
27. Saga determines the ritual requires finding Nightingale's heart and putting it through the Witch's Ladle sign hole.
28. Return to Nightingale's profile and select the The Heart topic, then The Heart! Where Is It?.
29. Saga deduces the heart is in the general store.
30. Return to the Case Board and place this clue against Where is the Heart?.
