Learn how to defeat the Giant Shy Guy on stilts in Yoshi's Island! This guide covers collecting red coins, finding the key, and the boss battle strategy.

Alright, this next part is a bit of a maze with some tricky spike traps, but don't worry, we'll get through it. You'll start by facing a wall of spikes to your right. Your goal here is to shoot fireballs at them to create an opening. Try to jump and shoot to clear as many spikes as you can to make a wider path. Once you've made a big enough gap, flutter jump through to the next egg flower. Grab the red coin right above it – that's coin number 15. Then, shoot through the next set of spikes, flutter through the opening, and land on the ledge with another egg flower and red coin (that's 16). After that, shoot through one last wall of spikes. Head to the platform on the far right and collect two more red coins (making it 18). Don't forget to ground pound the wooden box there to snag a Key!

Now, flutter back through those spike walls you just cleared and make your way to the far left side of the room. You'll see more spikes, this time in the floor. Shoot eggs to break through them – remember, you can use the egg flower to your right if you need to restock your eggs. Once those floor spikes are gone, jump through the gap you created. Below that, you'll find a door; unlock it to enter a new area. In this final room, just head right, jumping over the Shy Guys on stilts and collecting coins as you go. You'll find the last two red coins here (that makes 20!). At the very end, go through the Middle Ring and open the red door – it's time to meet the boss!

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Boss: Giant Shy Guy on stilts
• Weak Point: The feet of the stilts
• Attack Method: Shoot eggs at the stilt feet to push it back.
• Damage Application: Ground pound its head after it falls into the lava.

Phases:

1. The Giant Shy Guy will periodically have smaller Shy Guys jump out of its eyes. Collect these to make eggs.
2. After a few smaller Shy Guys emerge, the Giant will jump left, pushing you back.
3. Shoot eggs at the feet of the stilts to knock the Giant Shy Guy backwards towards the right.
4. Repeat step 3 until the Giant falls into the lava.
5. Quickly ground pound its head to deal damage.
6. Jump away immediately to avoid damage when the Giant jumps back onto the platform from the lava.
7. Repeat steps 3-6 until the Giant is defeated (requires 3 successful ground pounds).

Strategy:

• This boss battle is against a Giant Shy Guy on stilts. Smaller Shy Guys will pop out of its eyes – make sure to collect these to replenish your egg supply, as you'll need them.
• Your main attack is to shoot eggs at the *feet* of the stilts. This will push the Giant Shy Guy backwards towards the right.
• Keep at it! Once you push it back enough, it will fall into the lava. This is your chance! Quickly jump and ground pound its head to deal damage.
• Warning: As soon as you ground pound, jump away! The Giant Shy Guy will jump back onto the platform from the lava, and you don't want to get hit.
• You'll need to repeat this process three times. After the third successful ground pound, the Giant Shy Guy will crack open, and the smaller Shy Guys will pour out, ending the battle.
• Pro-Tip: This fight is significantly easier if you use Baby Bowser. His abilities can make this battle go much faster!
