Learn how to defeat Bessie Bass in Yoshi's Island! This guide covers the boss's attack patterns, weak points, and the strategy to win.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Boss: Bessie Bass
• Weak Point: Mouth
• Required Hits: 3
• Weakness: Eggs

Phases:

1. Navigate back through the pipe, go left, and unlock the door to a new area.
2. As you head down the stairs, the lights will dim. Don't turn your back on the Boos, or they'll chase you! If you need to hit them, bounce eggs off the walls.
3. At the bottom, collect the eggs and unlock the second door.
4. In the last room, flutter across the water and go through the Middle Ring. Use the Stork Stop to switch to Baby Mario.
5. Enter the red door to face Bessie Bass.
6. The room will partially fill with water, with three platforms floating on top. Eggs and Shy Guys will drop periodically.
7. Bessie Bass will swim back and forth under the water. Jump to avoid it when it swims by.
8. Watch for splashing water around the fish, as this indicates it's about to jump.
9. The boss will either make a small jump or a huge leap out of the water, crashing onto a platform.
10. When a big jump is imminent, the fish might try to fake you out. Position yourself on the platform next to where the fish is when it's about to leap.
11. Aim upward and shoot an egg into its mouth when it faces downward. A successful hit will cause it to take damage and fall.
12. After two successful hits, Bessie Bass will make several small leaps before a giant one. You'll need to avoid these as well.
13. A third successful egg shot into its mouth will defeat the boss.

Strategy:

• Don't panic if you run out of eggs; Shy Guys will drop more periodically.
• The key is timing your egg shots precisely into Bessie Bass's mouth when it leaps.
• Pay close attention to the splashing water as a cue for its jumps.
• Be ready to move to the correct platform to line up your shot.
• The fake-out jumps are designed to catch you off guard, so stay alert.
