Hey there! Ready to dive into the world of Unpacking? This guide is all about making sure you nail those art supplies and creative bits. Don't worry, it's not as complicated as it sounds, and we'll get through it together!

The main goal in each level is pretty simple: empty all the boxes. You've got point-and-click controls to help you out. Just click a box to open it, then click an item to pick it up and place it somewhere. As you take items out, the paper inside the box will disappear. Once a box is totally empty, one last click will make it vanish.

Most rooms will have several boxes waiting for you. Now, here’s a pro-tip: if you're finding it tricky to place items or just want to speed things up, turn on the 'Allow items anywhere' accessibility option in the settings. This lets you drop items wherever you want – seriously, you can just spill everything onto the floor! Aesthetics don't matter here, so don't stress about making it look perfect unless you really want to.

When you pick up an item, it'll usually auto-rotate to fit where you're trying to place it. If you need to rotate it manually, just press and hold !cn_B. Some items can be stacked, others can go on walls or hang on clothes hangers. If space is tight, you can even pick up an item and move to a different room using !cn_LB or !cn_RB. Oh, and most rooms are a bit taller than what you see on screen, so remember to scroll up or down for extra space!

Clothes hangers are worth a special mention. You'll get a bunch of them later on, and they can take up a lot of room. It's a good idea to hang them up in the wardrobes to keep them out of the way.

Story Walkthrough - Let's Get Unpacking!

Before we start, make sure you've turned on that accessibility option: go to Main Menu > Settings > Accessibility, then select "Allow items anywhere" and confirm. This won't affect any achievements, so you're good to go!

Back at the main menu, select 'Play'. You'll see a stack of books – these are your save slots. Pick the top one by pressing !cn_A and enter your name to begin.

1997

Alright, first things first! Click on the two boxes you see to open them. Now, just unpack everything inside. Remember, with the 'Allow items anywhere' option on, you can place items wherever you like – no need to find the 'perfect' spot.

To unpack, press !cn_A on a box to open it, then press !cn_A again to grab an item. Move it anywhere in the room and press !cn_A to place it.

Keep an eye out for a Rubik's Cube. When you're holding it, mash !cn_B repeatedly. The colors will change, and if you stop pressing !cn_B when all sides are the same color, you'll solve it! This unlocks the Solve a puzzle achievement.

Continue emptying the boxes. Once a box is empty, give it a final click to make it disappear. There's a third box to unpack after you finish the first one. Inside, you'll find an old Polaroid camera. Placing this unlocks the Make some memories achievement.

Once all three boxes are empty, a star will pop up in the bottom-right corner. Click it to finish the 1997 level and earn the Beginning achievement!

2004

Ready for the next chapter? This level has three rooms, and you can switch between them using !cn_RB and !cn_LB.

First, head to the bathroom. You can get a head start on a cumulative achievement here. There are seven toilets you need to flush across different levels. In the bathroom, click the handle on the right of the cistern to flush the toilet – that's Gotta flush 'em all 1/7!

Now, back to the bedroom to start unpacking. When you find a wooden artist's mannequin, don't put it down just yet! Press and hold !cn_B until the mannequin starts dabbing. This will unlock the Strike a pose achievement.
