Shining Poms are rare, elusive monsters in The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero, similar to Metal Slimes in Dragon Quest. While not as rewarding as their Dragon Quest counterparts, defeating them is necessary to earn the [The Usual Suspects] achievement. Unlike other rare monsters, Shining Poms appear as independent entities on the map, but their spawn rate is very low. Simply zoning in and out of an area is not enough to respawn them; you typically need to travel to a safe area like Crossbell City to reset their spawn chance. The further the distance between the Shining Pom's spawn location and the safe area, the more effort is required to make it appear. It is highly recommended to save your game before engaging a Shining Pom, as they can flee the battle easily and may spawn in groups.

The Shining Pom in Ursula Road is one of the easier ones to encounter early in the game, especially before the introduction of the Bus system for fast travel. This is because the safe area, St. Ursula Medical College, is located very close to its spawn point.

The Shining Pom in this area is Level 11. While the experience gained is limited due to your level relative to the enemy, defeating it yields 28 Sepith of all types and a high chance of dropping U-Material, though other enemies may be more efficient for farming U-Material.
