Crystals & Etchings

Navigate Ochette's Chapter 2, "Tera's Route," in Octopath Traveler II. Learn how to find Tera, befriend Pom, and defeat the powerful boss.

This guide covers Ochette's Chapter 2, "Tera's Route," in Octopath Traveler II, taking place in Crackridge. Recommended level is late 20s. Party members with Ice and Darkness abilities, or Osvald/Scholar sub-job with Advanced Magic, are highly useful. Healing support is also recommended.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Find someone who knows about Tera: Head northeast near the Inn for a scene. Tera is located somewhere under the town.
  2. 2
Find someone who can lead the way to Tera: Go southwest towards the Weapon Shop to meet Pom.
  3. 3
Befriend Pom: Pom is hungry. You need to give him Aromatic Jerky. If you don't have any, capture a Buttermeep in the Western Crackridge Wilds during the day to obtain it. Return to Pom at night with the Aromatic Jerky to befriend him. Pom will then reveal the path to the "Bed of the Titan" via a ladder.
  4. 4
Make for the Bed of the Titan with Pom: Follow the path revealed by Pom. Explore the area for chests containing an Energizing Pomegranate (M), a Knight's Greatbow, and a Protective Bracelet. Use the Save Stand before proceeding down the main ladder. Collect the Fire Amulet from the chest to the right. Heal up before the upcoming boss fight.

Boss Fight: Tera

Weaknesses:

  • Vulnerable: Dagger, Axe, Staff, Ice, Dark
  • Vulnerable (Yellow Health): Axe, Ice, Dark
  • Vulnerable (Red Health): Ice, Dark

Strategy:

  • Keep party HP above 1200. Lowering Tera's attack (Thief) and using buffs (Apothecary) is recommended.
  • Tera hardens its shell, lowering weaknesses over time.
  • Osvald with "Advanced Magic" can hit Ice twice per turn.
  • Tera's shield points do not exceed 6. Break Tera frequently.
  • Avoid attacking when Tera uses "Coiling Lava" to prevent self-damage; use this time for buffs and magic attacks.
  • Ochette's "Cleaving Blow" heals her during the fight.
  • Save BP for heavy hitters.

Tera's Attacks:

  • Trample: Deals ~1,200 damage to one party member.
  • Tera Harden's its body: Removes Dagger weaknesses.
  • Sneeze / _The powerful gust blows you back!_: Randomly removes a party member for 4-5 turns.
  • Jolt: Hits all party members for 900 damage.
  • Cinders: Hits a random party member three times in a row for potentially over 2,000 damage.
