Master the formidable Boss Robot in SLAPSHOT Rebound! Learn its attack patterns, abilities, and the best Brawlers to use. Conquer all challenge levels from Normal to Insane!

Alright, let's talk about the Boss Fight event in SLAPSHOT Rebound. This is where you and two teammates team up to take down a massive Boss Robot. Think of it as a real test of your teamwork and skills!

The core idea is simple: beat the Boss. But here's the catch – the difficulty ramps up with every win. You'll start at Normal and climb all the way to Insane. If you and your team get wiped out, it's game over, so staying alive is key. Luckily, you can respawn as long as one teammate is still standing.

This mode is unranked, so no Trophies are on the line, which is nice. It's all about the challenge and the bragging rights. If you're playing with friends, the game will set the difficulty to the lowest level any of you have reached, which is a neat way to keep things fair.

One thing to watch out for: your attacks and Supers are 70% less effective at charging up in this mode. So, you'll need to be more strategic about when you unleash your abilities.

Boss Abilities

This giant robot isn't messing around. It's got a whole arsenal:

  • Anger: The Boss gets angrier over time, not based on damage taken. This means it hits harder, moves faster, and its attacks become tougher to dodge. Its color and size change too, giving you a visual cue of its increasing rage.
  • Melee attack: If you get too close, expect a punch that deals 800+ damage every 0.4 seconds. Best to keep your distance!
  • Rocket attack: The Boss fires a spread of rockets that deal 1200+ damage each after a 1-second delay. Later on, these rockets can even break walls, and in the highest stages, they'll go right through them.
  • Charge: Similar to Bull's Super, the Boss will charge forward, breaking walls and hitting anyone in its path for 1200+ damage. It gives a 1-second warning before it goes for it.
  • Lobbed rocket: This is a big one! The Boss targets the closest Brawler with a giant rocket that deals 2000+ damage and destroys walls in a 3.33 tile radius. You'll see an area-of-effect indicator, so dodge it if you can! After it hits, the area burns for 6 seconds, dealing 400+ damage per second.
  • Robot Minions: You won't be fighting alone! The Boss summons smaller robots, similar to those in Robo Rumble. They have less health but are a bit faster. Waves of these minions will spawn more frequently as the difficulty increases.

Maps

The main map for this event is simply called Boss Fight. You might also encounter variations like Danger Zone, Machine Zone, and Metal Scrap.

Useful Brawlers

Picking the right Brawler can make a huge difference. Here are a few top picks:

  • Colt: With his high damage and long range, Colt can stay safe from the Boss's melee. His Slick Boots Star Power helps him dodge attacks better, and his Super is great for clearing out minions and damaging the Boss. If you grab Power Cubes, Colt becomes even more of a threat. His Speedloader Gadget is perfect for quickly reloading ammo when you need that extra burst of damage.
  • Max: Max's incredible speed is a lifesaver for dodging attacks and repositioning to heal. Her Super is a team-wide speed boost, invaluable when facing multiple threats or helping slower teammates like 8-Bit escape. If she collects Power Cubes, she's like a super-fast Colt. Her Phase Shifter Gadget can also block dangerous rockets. Her Super Charged Star Power keeps the team boosted, while Run 'N Gun lets her constantly deal damage.
  • Gale: Gale's snowballs hit hard against the Boss's large hitbox, and his range keeps him safe. His Spring Ejector Gadget is great for maintaining distance.
