Things kick off at the Steel Mill. You'll see Toby join Xavier, Barbara, and Rachel for the sacrifice meant to stop the phenomena. Rachel's the one tasked with the ritual, but she gets a bad feeling about it. Suddenly, they're all yanked into the Otherworld. Toby's pushing Rachel to go through with it, but she's hesitant. In a shocking turn, Toby forces her hand, and Rachel stabs him, killing him. Creepily, a creature called The Collector snatches his finger.

After the ceremony, it's clear the phenomena hasn't stopped. Barbara and Krista decide to look for other solutions. Meanwhile, Faith just vanishes from the Foundation, leaving Rachel and Xavier baffled. Rachel heads out to search, trying to reach Eric, but her calls go unanswered. During her search, she meets a man who lost his dog and his wife to the Foundation's cult. He tells Rachel how his wife believed the cult could cure her disease. Rachel admits she's starting to doubt their teachings. Sadly, the man is then mauled to death by an Otherworld creature while looking for his dog. Rachel flees back to the Foundation, seeking Xavier's help and blaming herself for Faith's disappearance. Xavier suggests she try Eric.

Over at the laundromat, Eric gets a call from Toby, asking him to buy drinks for everyone and deliver his final message to the townsfolk. Eric heads to the bar, delivers the message, and runs into Krista. She offers to return the favor, and they meet back at the laundromat. But just as things seem to settle, they're transported to the Otherworld, and Eric is brutally attacked.

Stilledalen, Norway

Meanwhile, at the farmhouse, Astrid discovers Karl and Mette's relationship. She's uneasy about her father's actions, especially with Ingrid's funeral preparations underway, but decides not to confront them. Later, Astrid asks Karl to keep an eye on Orson and make sure he doesn't see Ingrid's body. At the funeral, Astrid gives a direct and honest eulogy for Ingrid. Orson wants to see his sister's body, but Karl firmly tells him no. Shortly after, Orson vanishes in the thick fog during the funeral, and Astrid frantically starts searching for him.

Alone, Astrid is led by Ingrid's apparition, who promises to guide her to Orson, but it leads to nothing. Soon, Astrid and Karl reunite with other funeral attendees who offer to help. However, they soon find themselves separated from the group and attacked by Otherworld creatures. They run and stumble upon Brit Johansen, who had also been helping with the search.
