- 1The Monolith: Found on the map or via the 'Strange Signal' quest. Activates when investigated, increasing the monolith level and allowing more dangerous entities to appear. Discovering entities advances the monolith level.
- 2Entities: Major threats that appear after the monolith is investigated. They can be studied by incapacitating them and placing them in containment cells to advance the Anomaly Tech Tree.
- 3Ambient Horror: A mode where the monolith does not appear, and Anomaly threats are rare. The monolith endgame cannot occur in this mode.
- 4Anomaly Settings: Adjust the frequency of anomaly threats in custom difficulty. Default settings are 8% when the monolith is inactive and 30% after investigation. These sliders do not affect minor incidents.
- 5Basic Entities: Includes the Void monolith, Harbinger tree, Fleshbeast, Sightstealer, Shambler, Ghoul, Gorehulk, and Death pall.
