Guide to Quake II's secret Comm Satellite level: Learn how to disable the power core, destroy the communications dish, and find secret areas.
Walkthrough
- 1Exit the bay doors, but don't get sucked out. Use the computer console near the blocked elevator to close the bay doors. You gain the ability to jump really high for the rest of the level.
- 2Approach the closed bay doors to find a Power Shield and ammo.
- 3Head into the elevator by the computer console and ride it up.
- 4Follow the corridor, which is heavily infested with Flyers.
- 5You'll see stairs on the right blocked by a force field. Continue through the corridor.
- 6Go through a door, turn right, and continue to another door on the right.
- 7Enter the next area, step onto an elevator, and ride it up.
- 8Go down the corridor and you'll reach another door. To the right of it, grab some Stimpacks.
- 9Continue to a button in the floor. Stand on it, and a message will appear instructing you to destroy the computer.
- 10Turn left and shoot the computer to disable the power core, completing your first objective. You'll receive a new objective: destroy the Communications Dish.
- 11Go through the door you passed earlier and follow the corridor.
- 12You'll see a corridor leading left; ignore it for now.
- 13Continue through the corridor and enter a large room with open bay doors to your left and an elevator blocked by a force field on the right.
- 14Use the computer console in this room to close the bay doors.
- 15Search by the bay doors for a Combat Suit, Bandolier, and ammo.
- 16Head back to the corridor you just passed and go down it to enter a large area with a hole in the floor.
- 17A gigantic robot fly will appear; defeat it.
- 18After killing the robot fly, look up. The communication dish is above you.
- 19Jump up and hit the four switches on the ceiling to lower the dish, which will then be destroyed, completing your objectives for this secret area.
- 20Return to the room where you closed the second bay door and ride the elevator to resume your previous mission.
