Alright, so we're diving into the Borehole level in Quake II. The main goal here is to push through these mines and find the way into the Factory. There's also a secondary objective to get some of the mine machinery up and running, which will open up a new area for us. Keep an eye out, too – there's at least one secret area to find!

Walkthrough

    You'll start off and immediately see an elevator to your left that's currently out of order. Don't worry about it for now. Head straight ahead.

    Around the corner, you'll run into a Gladiator. Take it down, then head down the stairs.

    When you reach the bottom of those stairs, hang a right and follow the corridor. You'll find more stairs – head down them.

    Clear out the Strogg that are in this room. Once it's safe, check under the stairs you just came down. You'll find a secret area with some much-needed armor and rockets.

    You'll notice a hole in the floor here. Make a mental note of it, but ignore it for now and continue through the corridor ahead.

    You'll encounter a couple more Gladiators in this next stretch. After dealing with them, you'll come across two buttons. Press both of them to activate the drilling machinery. This completes your secondary objective!

    Now, head back to that hole in the floor you saw earlier and drop down into it.

    Once you're down there, you'll see two tunnels. Take the one on the right.

    When you reach an area with slats across from you, look underneath the walkway. You'll find a Quad Damage power-up hidden there. Grab it!

    Turn around and head back the way you came, back to where you dropped into the hole. Now, take the other tunnel.

    This tunnel will lead you to an area with a couple of Berserkers. Take them out.

    Step onto the elevator in this area, and it'll take you up.

    Once you're back up, drop through the hole in the floor again. Head through the corridor on the right. This will loop you back to where you started the level.

    Go back to that elevator on the right (the one that wasn't active before). Use it.

    Head through the door at the bottom of the elevator ride. This will end the Borehole level and move you on to the next area.
