After some dialogue, Professor Kukui will inform you that you can now challenge Island Kahuna Hala. He is waiting behind Kukui and you can challenge him immediately. Your Pokémon will be healed before the battle.

Kahuna Battle: Island Kahuna Hala

  • Pokemon: Machop (Level 15), Makuhita (Level 15), Crabrawler (Level 16)
  • Type: All Fighting
  • Moves: Machop (Karate Chop, Revenge, Focus Energy), Makuhita (Arm Thrust, Fake Out, Sand Attack), Crabrawler (Power-Up Punch, Pursuit, Leer)
  • Note: Crabrawler holds Fightinium Z, enabling the Z-Move All-Out Pummeling. Hala also uses a Super Potion on low-health Pokémon.

After the Battle:

  1. Hala will award you the Fightinium Z Z-Crystal.
  2. Pokémon up to Level 35 will now obey you.
  3. Hala will give you the Ride Pager, allowing you to call Tauros for boulder-breaking.
  4. Professor Kukui will give you TM54 False Swipe.
  5. He will advise you to speak with your mother and then head to the Hau'oli City Marina.
