How to Make a Recycler

Alright, let's get you set up with your first Recycler! These things are super handy for turning junk scraps into useful materials, and you'll probably want a few of them later on. Don't worry, it's not too complicated to build.

First things first, you'll need to select the Recycler blueprint on your Assembly Station. Once you do, you'll see a faint outline of it on the platform, showing you where it's going to go. Now, let's talk about what you actually need to gather.

So, to get that Recycler built, you're looking at needing 2 Stone Troughs, 3 Wood, and 2 Grinding Saws. We'll break down how to get each of these.

If you're aiming to craft all the components for the Recycler, the total raw materials you'll need are: 14 Stone, 3 Wood, and 8 Dinas.

How to Get Wood

Wood is pretty straightforward. You can get it by chopping at bushes or those little wooden scraps scattered around. Sometimes you can even just sift through wood piles with your hands! Just a heads-up, try not to chop down actual trees or cacti – not only is it bad for the environment, but the townspeople will get annoyed, and you might even get fined!

Keep an eye out for those wooden scraps that have an axe symbol floating above them – those are your best bet.

How to Make a Grinding Saw

You'll craft Grinding Saws at your Worktable. Each one needs 1 Stone and 4 Dinas. Since the Recycler needs 2 Grinding Saws, you'll need to double up on those materials – so, that's 2 Stone and 8 Dinas in total just for the saws!

How to Get Dinas

Dinas is that common, sand-like resource. You'll find it by mining the red gravel stones you see around your workshop area. You need 8 Dinas total for those 2 Grinding Saws, so get mining!

Just mine those gravel stones, and you'll get your Dinas.

How to Get Stone

Stone is another common one. You can get it by mining stone scrap piles with your pickhammer, or by mining those same gravel stones you get Dinas from. You really shouldn't have any trouble finding enough stone.

Grab your pickhammer and start smashing those stone scraps!

How to Make a Stone Trough

Stone Troughs are also made at the Worktable. Each trough needs 6 Stone. Since you need 2 Stone Troughs for the Recycler, that means you'll need a total of 12 Stone for them. Remember, you can find stone by mining stone piles, gravel, or if you're really in a pinch and have some Gols to spare, you can even buy it from the Commerce Guild.

How to Use a Recycler

Once you've got your Recycler built, it's going to become one of your best pals. You can toss all sorts of scraps into it, and it'll churn them into more useful materials. You can't directly choose what you get back – it's a bit of a surprise! Different scraps have different chances of yielding certain materials, so sometimes you might not get exactly what you need right away. The best strategy here is just to feed it as many scraps as you can; the more you put in, the better your odds of getting something good.

For example, wood scraps can be recycled into dregs, wood, or wood sticks.

To get your Recycler running, you'll need two things: a fuel source and water. Fuel is usually easy – you can use Dregs (which you find in scrap piles), wood, or power stones. As long as you're always gathering stuff, you should have plenty of fuel options.

Water can be a bit trickier since the game emphasizes conservation. Sometimes your water tank might be empty, and you'll need to refill it using water barrels.
