When you first arrive at the Citadel, you'll be heading to the Spectre office. This is where you'll get the lowdown on what's happening with the Collectors and why Shepard is back in action. You'll have a few conversations here, so pay attention to the dialogue. This is also where you'll likely get the ball rolling on recruiting new squadmates and starting some of the main missions.

After your initial meeting, you'll need to explore the Citadel. This involves visiting various locations like the Upper and Lower Markets, C-Sec headquarters, and talking to key NPCs. Each conversation can unlock new leads, side missions (Assignments), or provide crucial background information. Don't be afraid to explore every nook and cranny; you might find valuable resources or even hidden quests.

You'll be directed to specific individuals or areas depending on your current objectives. For example, if you're looking to recruit a specific character, you'll be sent to their known location on the Citadel. If you need to upgrade the Normandy or research new tech, you'll be heading to the appropriate terminals or shops. Keep an eye on your mission log to know where you need to go next.

The Citadel is also your primary place for stocking up. You'll find vendors selling weapons, armor, and ship upgrades. It's a good idea to check these regularly, especially after completing missions, as new and better gear often becomes available. Investing in your equipment and the Normandy's defenses is crucial for surviving the tougher challenges ahead.

While you're here, you'll also pick up several 'Assignments' that are specific to the Citadel itself. These are smaller side quests that can involve anything from helping out C-Sec with investigations to finding lost items for civilians.
