Guide to disabling the Blood Pack Communications Relay in Mass Effect 2. Learn enemy types, item locations, and strategies for defeating the Salamul boss.
Walkthrough
- 1You'll start in the Lusarn system on the planet Tarith. Your objective is to disable a series of Blood Pack Communications Relays. Activate the beacons as you progress. Don't worry too much about exploring every side path; there aren't any crucial items, just some extra minerals. The level involves a lot of walking and some bothersome fog.
- 2Around the third relay, you'll encounter a Klixen. These enemies are similar to Rachni and explode into goo when defeated. On higher difficulties, they'll have some armor, but it's not substantial.
- 3A few beacons later, you'll face a group of two Klixen. Keep an eye out for them.
- 4About two more beacons after that, you'll run into a group of three Klixen.
- 5A bit further on, you'll encounter another pair of Klixen.
- 6When you reach a beacon situated near a hill, you'll find some Blood Pack enemies positioned up top. There's also some Platinum ore there, but no other significant loot.
- 7The main path forward leads to the end of the relay sequence. Here, you'll face a group of Blood Pack Troopers, a Boom-Squad that uses heavy weapons, and the Krogan boss, Salamul. Salamul starts very close to you and will immediately charge, so it's best to focus your fire on him first.
- 8After dealing with Salamul and the supporting troops, bypass the Communications Terminal. Interacting with it will give you a new mission: Destroy Blood Pack Base.
Tips
- The Klixen are a recurring threat. While they explode, try to keep your distance when they die to avoid splash damage, especially on higher difficulties.
- Salamul is heavily armored and charges aggressively. Use your most powerful weapons and abilities on him. If you have squadmates with armor-piercing rounds or abilities, now is the time to use them.
- The Boom-Squad can be a serious threat with their heavy weapons. Prioritize taking them out after Salamul, or focus them down if they pose an immediate danger.
- Don't forget to collect the Raw Materials and Platinum scattered throughout the level. While not game-changing, they contribute to your overall resource count.
