Walkthrough

    In the first room, hit the multicolored block for an Attack Piece and a ? block for five Coins. Proceed to the next room.

    Swim up to find a ? block with a Syrup Jar. Hit the switch on the right to reveal a dark ball. Push the ball to the left with Bowser drinking water to break the ground. Go down and right to find a ? block with the M/L pattern puzzle; complete it for an Attack Piece. Enter the next room.

    A moving wall appears. Switch to Bowser. Luigi will shrink Mario by hitting him with hammers. To reverse, hit Mario again. Shrink Mario and send him through the small gap to find a switch. Hit it to remove the wall and free Toadsworth. Hit the switch near Toadsworth to remove the blue platform. Save if needed. Shrink Mario again and go through the nearby gap. Hit the switch in the top-right and get the Picnic Gear from the ? block in the lower-right. Return to Luigi, continue Bowser drinking, and swim above the Save Block to find a ? block with a Nut. Go left.

    Hit the two ? blocks near the top for 10 Coins and a Mushroom. Pass through the platforms to the left to find an Attack Piece. Go to the top-left corner.

    Go left and hit the switch to spawn a dark ball. Start the water supply. Push the ball left. Create another ball and push it right. The lower-right gap contains an Attack Piece. Shrink Mario and go through the gap to find and hit a switch. Return to Luigi, return to normal size, and go through the top-left exit.

    Hit the nearby block for the final Pump Works Attack Piece, teaching Mario and Luigi the Fire Flower Special move. Swim left, hit the switch, and push the appearing dark ball left.

    Continue pushing the dark ball until it's above the cannon structure. Drain the water. Go through the bottom gap to find a ? block with ten Coins and a switch. Hit the switch to launch the ball right. Go left to the previous area.

    Go to the top-right corner and through the gap to the cannon room. Find the Fighter Wear in the ? block. Enter the room to the right.

    Start the water. Push the dark ball left until the ground shatters. Go into the gap and right to find the Stingler. Go back to where you found the Save Block (three areas west of the Stingler). Save and go up to the DNA arch. Press Up to insert the Stingler and activate the DNA. You will return to the World Map as the Mario Bros.

    Head to the Flame Pipe after healing and restocking in Toad Square.

    Go right and up the platforms. Shrink Mario and go through the gap on the left to find a switch. Hit it and return to Luigi. Enter the next room.

    Climb the platforms. After a short scene, you will fight the Scutlet.

Strategy:

  • The Scutlet targets based on what it looks at. Having both brothers jump during the aerial tackle is safer.
  • For most of the battle, use the Green Shell Special (easier than Fire Flower, similar damage, less SP cost).
  • When low on SP, use jumping or hammering.
  • The Scutlet will get two attacks per turn late in the battle.

After defeating the Scutlet, Bowser's flame is restored, and you regain control of him.
