Affix Shards

Master Last Epoch's crafting system. Learn how to use Affix Shards, Runes, Glyphs, and Legendary Potential for powerful item upgrades in the endgame.

Last Epoch's crafting system allows players to significantly enhance their gear by using various crafting materials and mechanics. A core component of this system is the use of Affix Shards, which are obtained by shattering items.

Crafting Guide:

1. Obtain Affix Shards: Use the Rune of Shattering to break down unwanted items. Each item will yield Affix Shards corresponding to the affixes it possessed. Higher rarity items or items with higher tiers of affixes will yield more valuable shards.
2. Understand Affix Tiers: Affix Shards are categorized by the tier of the affix they originated from. When crafting, you will use these shards to add or improve affixes on your gear.
3. Crafting Interface: Access the crafting interface by right-clicking on a crafting station. You can then select an item to craft on and choose which Affix Shards to use.
4. Forging Potential: Items have a stat called Forging Potential, which represents how many more times an item can be successfully crafted. Each crafting attempt consumes Forging Potential. When Forging Potential reaches zero, no further crafting can be done on that item.
5. Glyphs and Runes: Glyphs (like Glyph of Hope) can be used to increase the chance of a successful craft or to protect certain affixes. Runes (like Rune of Ruing) can be used to remove or reroll affixes.
6. Legendary Crafting: For endgame gear, Legendary Potential on Unique items is crucial. It allows you to combine a Unique item with a Rare item, transferring the Rare item's affixes onto the Unique, creating a Legendary item.
