Shoot the vortigaunt inside the cave, then kill another hiding to the right of the cave entrance.

Enter the cave, go left, and kill a third vortigaunt near the cave's back exit.

Get the ammo canister near the back exit.

To reach the healing pool safely, exit the cave, turn right, get on the nearest up-n-down machine's raised ground, then jump onto the hill and run past it. Alternatively, you can jump to the rock and then over to the healing pool, or long-jump straight to the pool.

After restoring health to 100%, jump back onto the hill and return to the cave entrance.

Reenter the cave and turn right to find a room with supplies. A vortigaunt is hiding to the left; sneak-shoot it with hornets before collecting the four health packs, three armor batteries, and two ammo canisters.

Warning: Upon entering the supply room, three alien controllers will appear outside the cave. Deal with them before picking up the ammo canisters.

Crouch-walk to the cave's entrance. Take down the controller hovering between two rocky spires with fast altfire hornets.

Go to the cave's back exit and crouch-walk while looking out until you see another hovering controller. Use altfire hornets to kill it. If it moves and fires orbs, use regular-fire hornets and dodge.

Equip the crossbow. Slowly move backwards out of the cave's back exit, looking up and to the right, to spot the third controller's head. Fire two darts to kill it.

Collect the cave supply room's ammo canisters if you haven't already.

Find the large cave entrance to the left of the two up-n-down machines. At the back, turn left and hop up rocks to find a tunnel leading to a big healing water cave. Watch out for barnacles (a type of hanging creature that attacks).

Return to the cave entry area and look left of the rock-blocked passage for a narrow ridge leading to a hidden supply area. Jump onto the lowest part of the ridge and keep jumping up. If needed, crouch-walk at the top.

After looting the secret supply area, go back down the ridge. Look down the rock-blocked passage and use altfire hornets to break the vines at the other end.

Warning: This action will cause a gargantua (a large, powerful enemy) to approach. Quickly run outside and up onto the nearby large hill.

Wait for the gargantua to appear and see you, then move on your hill to lure it to the area with spiky-tipped plants. Stand on your hill so the gargantua remains near the plants and keeps getting hit. You can shoot the nearest plants with altfire hornets to make them swing. Dodge the gargantua's sonic stomp-blasts. The plants will destroy it.

Warning: There is a glitch where the gargantua may be unable to pass two large rocks near the cave entrance, pacing endlessly. If this occurs, you must destroy it with grenades, rockets, or the gluon gun. Set up tripmines and/or C4 satchels beforehand if desired.

Warning: On rare occasions, the two rocks near the cave entrance may self-destruct, or you may be able to destroy them. This might be faster than waiting for the gargantua to reach the plants.

Enter the gargantua's lair and check the back wall for a small cave with supplies.

On the opposite side of the lair, past some yellow crystals, carefully crouch-jump your way up the side of the smaller of the two big rocks under a large opening.

Crouch-walk onto the highest point of the bigger rock. From there, drop to a rocky ledge, then jump to the edge of the two-tentacle area.

Use altfire hornets to kill the nearby barnacle.

Wait for the two tentacles to settle down. Slowly crouch-walk to the large break in the path that leads around them. Quicksave (save your game).

You can drop down to find an armor battery and three sets of hand grenades, but this is not necessary unless you are out of hand grenades.
