Complete walkthrough for Part 33 of Half-Life: Opposing Force, guiding you through houndeye encounters, laser rooms, alien grunt cages, and tripmine traps.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Clear the area of houndeyes, then enter their room. Jump-crouch onto a metal crate next to a fence, carefully edge over, and crowbar-bash the red electrical object to open the gate.
  2. 2
Heal up, go through the door, and find a room with an alien grunt cage. Go around the right side, crowbar-bash the glass covering a button, then quickly move to the back of the cage to enter the door on the left as it opens. Proceed down the hallway.
  3. 3
In a large blue-ish room with a headcrab cage, enter the control booth. Use the first aid station and hit the big button to temporarily close doors and zap headcrabs with a laser. This will cause a marine to appear outside. Lure the marine to see you, then quickly run back into the control booth and hit the button again. Stay away from the booth door while the laser charges.
  4. 4
After the zap, find the marine's dropped assault rifle. Continue past the laser room, find another first aid station, and meet a security guard. Wait for him to finish talking, then have him follow you to the next section.
  5. 5
Section c2a4e: LOBBY COMBAT, BLUE LASER ROOM #2, AND TRIPMINED COMPUTER ROOM
  6. 6
After a few corners, you'll see a large lobby with two marines ahead. Quicksave, then use an AR grenade to try and kill both. If unsuccessful, quickrestore and try again.
  7. 7
Move into the lobby, look right, and shoot any marines on the upper walkway with the .357. Lure them down the side hallway to engage them with minimal damage.
  8. 8
Get out your assault rifle, cross the lobby, and go down the side hallway and along the walkway to ensure all enemies are cleared.
  9. 9
Collect dropped weapons, including a shotgun, from the marines. Return to the lobby, get shotgun shells from the desk, and use the HEV charger.
  10. 10
Briefly return to the previous section to use a first aid station and get your security guard follower if you left him behind. Return to the lobby hallway and proceed to the next blue laser room.
  11. 11
Leave your security guard outside. Enter the room and push the button between the two cages to open them. Run to the control booth. Lure headcrabs out of their cages so the laser can zap them. Repeat until all headcrabs are dead.
  12. 12
Search the cages to find a crossbow and some snarks. Proceed down the corridor with two marines. If they are alert, shoot them quickly or lure them into the laser room. If unaware, sneak-shoot them with the .357.
  13. 13
At one end of the hallway are doors leading back to the lobby's side hallway. At the other end is an entrance to a room with computer banks, one rigged with tripmines. Go left from a shelf with two armor batteries to find a dead marine with three unset tripmines. Pick them up and place one near that spot.
  14. 14
Go up the sloping floor to the red-lit room and its large window. Shoot one of the tripmines with your pistol, then immediately crouch until the fighting stops. Stand up to be seen, then quickly run back to the start of the sloping hallway and get your assault rifle. Aim to kill the survivor with the tripmine you set.
  15. 15
SRC: Glitch Note: If tripmines have already exploded and enemies are in the computer bank room upon loading a save, approach the doorway slowly to sneak-shoot an alien grunt. Then, crouch-walk into the doorway to engage the remaining grunts and marines. Quicksave after the battle.

Tips:

  • To make marines forget about you and allow for sneak-shooting, run back to the previous section's loading area and return to the current one. This will
