Walkthrough
- 1The hallway past the crate has enemies. You can sneak-shoot them with hornets. One enemy hides in the second doorway on the left.
- 2If detected, retreat to the fallen door in the elevator shaft and shoot from there.
- 3Locate the large red wheel on the wall and use it to activate steam vents.
- 4Approach the steam vents but do not enter. Aliens will begin teleporting in.
- 5Run into the nearby room and go through the door in its back right corner to avoid incoming fire.
- 6After a few seconds, return to the doorway and use hornets to hit enemies in the steam.
- 7Strafe into the hall to lure surviving aliens into the steam, then retreat to cover.
- 8If only vortigaunts appear, throw a grenade toward the back wall past the steam to make an alien grunt appear. This grunt may not appear otherwise.
- 9Shut off the steam using the same wheel.
- 10Two more grunts are around the corner past the steam vents. Quicksave and attempt to sneak-shoot them with hornets.
- 11If they attack aggressively, quickrestore and get the security guard's help, or use heavier weapons like the crossbow.
- 12At the end of the hallway, find a ladder leading down to a small optional area (section c3a2f).
- 13To safely descend, crouch-hop onto the railing and run onto the ladder from there.

- 15In the room at the bottom of the ladder, note the numbers 2, 4, and 7 written in blood on the floor next to a reactor core diagram.
- 16Use stacked crates to hop over a fence and land on a walkway in a dark, wrecked room.
- 17Crouch-walk under a fallen beam to find a health pack and Gauss Gun ammo.
- 18Crouch-walk back under the beam and use the ladder on the left side of the fence to return over it.
- 19Return up the tall ladder to section c3a2c.

- 21Go through the "CORE LEVEL B" door in a side hall.
- 22Walk next to the teleporter orb closest to the core fence.
- 23Watch the nearest orb past the fence for a rotating platform.
- 24Enter the portal next to you when a rotating platform moves under it to reach the moving platform.
- 25You will rotate around ports 1, 2, and 3. Port 2 leads to the next level.
- 26Jump into port 1 to be teleported to a headcrab-infested area.
- 27Kill the headcrab ahead in the grate-floored room with hornets.
- 28Another headcrab will drop near the ladder; kill it and any subsequent ones.
- 29Kill headcrabs in the two dark side niches along the right wall, using your flashlight. Each niche has three headcrabs that drop one at a time.
- 30Go to the edge of the grate-floored room and kill a headcrab near the wall with hornets. Wait for more to fall, or check the ceiling if none appear.
- 31Kill the headcrab to the left of the portal on the platform at the other end of the room.
- 32Use altfire hornets to shoot floor gratings to find breakable ones, or walk along the floor beam across the room to a spot near the ladder.
- 33Jump to the ladder and climb it to the portal platform.
- 34Get hand grenades from a crate near the portal, then go through it to return to the starting teleporter area.
- 35Once back on a rotating platform, go through port 3 to a secret supply room. Get supplies, then use the exit portal to return to the starting area.
- 36This time, go through port 2. Jump to the port 2 ledge, not directly into the port. Try jumping when the rotating platform is approaching port 2.
- 37Quicksave, then look up at the portal directly above.
- 38Wait for a rotating platform to appear under that portal, then quickly back into port 2.
- 39Immediately crouch, as the platform will move under a pipe between ports 6 and 4.
- 40Wait to jump into port 5, which leads to a room with supplies and three scientists.
- 41Go through the room's door and down a hallway to another room with supplies and a portal back to the starting teleporter area.
- 42Go through port 2 again to reach the next level.
- 43Jump to port 4's ledge and quicksave.
- 44Look up and right to see the portal port 4 leads to, and enter it when a moving platform is available to land on.
