Discover all five moth locations in Grounded's Upper Grasslands! Get tips on parkour, building strategies, and combat tactics to easily defeat these elusive creatures.

Alright, so you're looking to track down those elusive Moths in Grounded, huh? They can be a bit tricky to find, scattered around the Upper Grasslands, and some definitely require a bit of creative climbing or building. But don't worry, I've got you covered. We'll go through each of the five spots, and then I'll give you the lowdown on how to actually take them down.

Here are the five main spots where you'll find Moths:

  • Upper Grasslands Lamp
  • Stump
  • Log
  • Wheelbarrow
  • Moldorc Castle

Upper Grasslands Lamp

This is probably the easiest one to get to. Head to the southern lamp in the Upper Grasslands, near that stone wall separating the Koi Pond from the rest of the area. Just head south from the Lawnmower. Once you're near the stone wall, you'll need to do a bit of parkour, hopping up from the long grass. Keep an eye out for a blade of grass that lets you climb right onto the Lamp itself. That's where the Moth will be waiting.

Stump

For the second Moth, you'll want to head to the Stump area, which is in the top-right part of your map. Start by climbing the roots of the tree, heading towards the northeast. You'll eventually reach the top of the stump, with all sorts of mushrooms and broken bark around. From there, you need to parkour your way west, across the bark. The Moth is perched on a really tall section of the stump. Your best bet here is to build some stairs to reach it. Look for spots on the bark where you can build; using Clover Sloped Roofs is a good shout since clovers and weeds are usually plentiful nearby. If building isn't your style, you can also try using ranged weapons from other high points on the bark, or even snipe it from the Stepladders on the north wall.

Log

This one's located southwest of the Stump. Make your way into the center of the rotten log and follow the woody ramp upwards. You'll come across a splinter you can run across, and then some more parkour to climb up. After that, you'll be outside the log, jumping on mushrooms and doing some crouch jumps along the bark. Keep heading to the southwest part of the log, and you'll find the Moth, and usually a Mega Milk Molar as a bonus!

Wheelbarrow

The source text mentions that crouch jumping is often necessary for navigating steep leaves in this area. Make sure you're using that crouch jump, or you might just slide off to your doom!

Moldorc Castle

The last Moth is in Moldorc Castle. The tricky part here is that there's no natural way to get to the castle, so you'll need to build your own bridge. Once you're there, head up the stairs on the south side and make your way to the roof. From the roof, you can jump onto one of the wedges and then use a grenade or your bow to get the Moth's attention. Heads up: This area is crawling with Tiger Mosquitos, so clear them out first before you try to engage the Moth. You don't want to be fighting them while also dealing with the Moth.

Moth Tactics

Fighting Moths is pretty similar to fighting Bees. They've got that charging headbutt attack, and they can also use a dust spell that causes a bleed effect, kind of like poison. The key is to just dodge their attacks – it's not too complicated once you get the hang of it.

If you're having trouble getting close, using ranged weapons to aggro the Moths from a distance can make things a lot easier than trying to parkour your way up to them. Also, Moths are weak to Sour, Fresh, and Spicy damage types, so make sure you're using a weapon that matches one of those to do significantly more damage.
