Gears of War 4 Part 22 walkthrough: navigate the split paths, find Cog Tags (CT25), and face intense shootouts with no checkpoints.
Walkthrough
- 1Use the Torque Bow on any enemies that get close, or if you have it, for practice for the "The Nuge" Achievement.
- 2Move into the building you come across and snipe all enemies in the courtyard.
- 3When Boomers appear, snipe the sniper in the building above them before they snipe you.
- 4If you have the Torque Bow, use it on the Boomers; otherwise, snipe one and shotgun the other.
- 5Find Cog Tags (CT25) by returning to the start, heading down the ramp, and up the first stairs on your right.
- 6Pick up all available ammo before moving towards the area where the Boomers appeared.
- 7When the Boomers appear, stay back and consider falling back with the Theron Guards due to their accurate, one-hit-kill attacks.
- 8Revive any dead teammates and try to stay alive.
- 9A Boomshot is available in the shed where the sniper usually is, for extra firepower.
- 10Be very careful as this section is a huge shootout with no checkpoints if you die.
- 11Immediately after, you must split up. If you have the Longshot, pick the Left Path; otherwise, the Right path might be better. The Right path is generally considered easier, but the choice is yours.
Left Path:
- As soon as you round the corner, head left for Lancer ammo and grenades.
- Turn around and head up the stairs.
- At the top, keep your chainsaw revved (if you have the Lancer) or shotgun ready (if you have the Longshot/Shotgun combo) to deal with the Theron Guard.
- Head into the next room and slowly pick off enemies on the ground with mid-to-long range weapons, preferably the Longshot.
- Hop over the low wall and take cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) behind the pillar to shotgun any Wretches.
- If your health gets low from Locusts shooting you, hop back over the low wall to let your health regenerate.
- Kill the remaining Locust in the next room and any Wretches you missed.
- Pick up the Hammer of Dawn next to the window and use it on the Seeder, watching for Wretches coming from the hallway to your left.
- After switching the Hammer of Dawn back for your previous weapon, head down the hallway.
- Help your allies below if you wish, then head to the end of the hallway and twist the valve.
- Follow the new door to the end where you can see the sky.
- Destroy the Wretches and snipe everyone below.
- Have your shotgun ready for Wretches that come up when you go down the stairs.
- Destroy any remaining Locusts by shotgunning or sniping them.
- Head across the street and into the building.
- Once inside, head left and then outside, taking cover.
- If playing co-op, wait for your ally to take out enemies on the Troika. If playing solo, try to snipe everyone.
- Be patient once you hop over the cover, as there is limited cover and you cannot go back.
- After hopping across, head inside the house and pick up any needed ammo.
- Blow the propane tanks in the back of the truck and head through the gate.
Right Path:
- Take cover and snipe all enemies in the courtyard. Use the Lancer or Torque Bow if you don't have the Longshot.
- After the first wave, deal with another wave including a Theron Guard or two.
- Pick up ammo and head through the doorway on the left, opposite where you started.
- Grab the Hammer of Dawn, located about in the middle of the pathway but more towards the opposite end, and fall back without getting killed.
- Use the Hammer of Dawn to take out the Seeder and all other opposition.
- Grab your Longshot, plug the Locust hole, and wait for Dom to open the gate.
- Proceed forward through the building until you get outside again; there are no enemies.
- Take cover on the wall, using it as a decent snipe spot and a place to blind-fire-shotgun Wretches.
- Clear the area and cross it.
- Head inside the building.
- In the "Lecture Hall," head up to the door at the top and take cover on the right side.
- Shotgun any Locusts that run up to you, or snipe them.
- Head across and to the left, picking up grenades if needed.
- Drop a grenade on the Troika to end things quickly, or snipe them.
Tips
- Consider using the Torque Bow for practice or against close enemies, though it's not generally recommended unless you want to practice for the "The Nuge" Achievement.
- There is plenty of ammo around, so don't be afraid to use it.
- The shed where the sniper usually is contains a Boomshot for extra firepower.
- Falling back with Theron Guards can be a good defensive strategy due to their powerful attacks.
- The Left Path offers Lancer ammo and grenades early on.
- The Hammer of Dawn is crucial for dealing with the Seeder on the Right Path.
- On the Right Path, the wall provides a good vantage point for sniping and shotgunning Wretches.
- On Casual difficulty, any shot is a one-shot kill, making sniping easier.
