Walkthrough for The Fahrenheit in Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, including how to get 99 Underdog's Secret and defeat the boss Evrae.
- 1After regaining control of your party on the ship, save your game using the Save Sphere on the bridge.
- 2Speak with Wakka, Lulu, and Rikku on the bridge, Auron outside the bridge, and Kimahri in the Corridor outside the Bridge. Be aware that leaving and returning to the cockpit area will advance the plot.
- 3Speak with Cid for an optional scene that also changes the dialogue of other characters.
- 4Explore the ship and talk to various personalities from throughout the game.
- 5Locate the Al Bhed Compilation Sphere in the room with the Al Bhed Psyches (north from the Bridge through the Corridor).
- 6If you did not re-sign Nimrook (the best goalie at all levels), you can find him here. The Al Bhed Psyches are also present.
- 7Brother, the helmsman and best Midfielder until very high levels, can be found here. Wakka, an above-average Forward who can only be hired here, and Rin, a decent Midfielder, are also available.
- 8Rin runs an Item Shop selling Distillers and an Equipment Shop. If you have all 26 Al Bhed Primers, speaking to Rin triggers a scene where you receive 99 Underdog's Secret items. This item is also available in Act 3 but not again in Act 2.
- 9A summoner is waiting in a side corridor; speaking to her and choosing the dialogue option, "Who cares?" will trigger a minor scene in Act 3.
- 10Proceed to the Cabin, the final room on the ship.
- 11Return to the Bridge for more character dialogue. Speak to Brother to continue the game.
- 12You will encounter random enemies on the short route through the ship, similar to those found in Home, excluding the Guado Guardians.
- 13In the Cabin (the final room with the observation deck), a man to the south will give you four Al Bhed Potions.
- 14Use the Save Sphere in the Cabin and head towards the lift at the north end. Rin will be present for last-minute supplies and will trigger a scene upon speaking to him.
- 15Prepare for the boss battle: remove all elemental -strike equipment and equip for status resistance (Petrification on defense) or raw power.
- 16Head out onto the deck for the boss battle.
Boss: Evrae
Evrae has 32,000 HP and can be Overkilled for 2,000 HP. It yields 5,400 AP (8,100 for Overkill) and 2,600 Gil. You can Steal a Water Gem (common) or two Water Gems (rare). It Drops a Blk Magic Sphere (common) or a Blk Magic Sphere (rare). Its equipment drops have a 100% rate and can have 1-3 slots with 1-2 abilities. Weapons can have Stonetouch and Piercing (for Kimahri, Auron), and armor can have Stone Ward. Evrae is immune to Gravity and takes half damage from Fire, Ice, Water, and Lightning. It is vulnerable to Darkness, Slow (50), Power Break, Mental Break, and Delay. Evrae's attacks include Photon Spray (eight weak magical hits to random characters) when far away, and a physical attack and Stone Breath (inflicts Slow, ignoring immunities) when close. It can charge for Poison Breath (heavy magical damage plus 100% accurate Poison to the party) on its next turn. If Evrae is not Hasted and is Slowed, hit three times with Delay Attack, once with Delay Buster, or takes damage with HP below 10,667, it will cast Haste on itself. If Evrae is under the effect of Reflect, it will attempt to Haste a party member instead. Once Hasted, Evrae loses Stone Breath but gains Swooping Scythe (weak physical damage to the party, moves the airship close).
- The Move In/Pull Away mechanic with the Fahrenheit is crucial. Issuing this command allows the airship to move on Cid's next turn.
- While far away, Evrae's attacks may not hit, and you can fire up to three salvos of Guided Missiles for approximately 2,300 damage each. Only long-ranged attacks can hit while far away.
- If Evrae begins charging Poison Breath and the airship moves away, it will still use the attack, causing it to miss.
- If Evrae is under 10,667 HP and has Reflect, it will attempt to Haste itself every time it takes damage.
