    Djose Highroad: Save your game. If Kimahri has Steal, use it on enemies like Basilisk and Funguar for items. Enemies in the southern half include Funguar, Lamashtu, and Raptor. Enemies in the northern half include Gandarewa, Garm, Simurgh, and Snow Flan. Basilisk uses Stone Gaze (Petrification); defend with Stone Ward or Stoneproof, or learn Stone Breath via Lancet. Valefor is effective against Basilisk.

    Djose Highroad NPCs: Speak to a man in tan pants and a maroon shirt for a Soft Ring. Speak to a man in a blue shirt a second time for a Variable Steel (a downgrade from Brotherhood). A priest gives Yuna a Hi-Potion. A man in tan pants and a green shirt gives an Ether. A soldier in green pants gives a Mega-Potion.

    Djose Highroad Items: East of the Save Point, find a chest with two Phoenix Downs. Southeast, behind a pillar, find Al Bhed Primer XI. Along the northern cliff face, find a chest with a Bright Bangle.

    Pilgrimage Road: Follow the road northeast. Speak to Chocobo Knights for a scene.

    Djose Temple Exterior: Enter Djose Temple. Visit the Item and Equipment Shops. Behind the building, find a chest with four Ability Spheres. In an alcove on the west side, find a chest with 4,000 Gil. Luzzu or Gatta may be present.

    Djose Great Hall: Go forward for a scene. Find an Ether in the north shadows. In a room off the main chamber, find a Remedy. Enter the southern door to find a Mega Phoenix.

    Djose Cloister of Trials: Take a Djose Sphere and place it in the door. Repeat with the second Djose Sphere.

    Djose Cloister of Trials Puzzle: Illuminate the Yevon glyph. Take a Djose Sphere from the left of the door and place it in a wall recess on the far right. Repeat with the other Djose Sphere. Push the pedestal to the right. A scene will occur, powering up the pedestal's Sphere. Use the glowing square to reset the pedestal.

    Djose Cloister of Trials Puzzle (Continued): Take the powered-up Djose Sphere from the pedestal and place it in the notch to the right of the door. Take one Djose Sphere from the far right and place it on the pedestal. Do the same with the other Djose Sphere from the far right. Push the pedestal through the door to cross the gap. Examine the pedestal to push it in. Jump back across and step on the shining spot in the room with the Yevon glyph.

    Djose Cloister of Trials Puzzle (Final Step): Take a Djose Sphere from the pedestal and place it in a recess in the first room. Repeat with the pedestal's second Djose Sphere. Remove the powered-up Djose Sphere from the right of the door and place it to the left of the door. The glyph will transform into a lift.
Tips
  • Equip the Soft Ring on Yuna immediately for protection against Basilisk's Stone Gaze.
  • The Variable Steel is a Strength +3% accessory but is a downgrade from the Brotherhood.
  • The Bright Bangle offers Dark Ward but is best sold for Gil.
  • Avoid Wakka's Hyper Ball at the Djose Temple shop; a better option will be acquired soon.
  • The Mega Phoenix revives the entire party from KO with full HP.
