East Commonlands & Befallen (Human/Dark Elf)

Guide to East Commonlands and Befallen for EverQuest's Human and Dark Elf characters. Conquer Orc Camps, Griffons, and Befallen's undead for early progression.

Characters starting in Freeport or Neriak will spend their early levels in the East Commonlands. This vast, open zone is known for its Orc Camps, Griffons, and Dervish Camps. Quests are less prevalent here, with much of the early progression coming from grinding these camps. The Orc Camps, in particular, are popular for new players, offering decent experience and drops. The primary early dungeon for these races is Befallen, a dark and dangerous crypt filled with undead and cultists. Befallen is suitable for levels 10-20 and requires careful pulling and often a full group. The loot inside can be quite good for early game, but the zone is notoriously difficult for unprepared adventurers. Watch out for the wandering 'named' mobs.
