How to Beat Lord Nagafen (Nagafen's Lair)

Learn to defeat Lord Nagafen in EverQuest's Nagafen's Lair. Utilize fear kiting and manage adds to counter his fire breath and secure valuable dragon scale loot.

Lord Nagafen is one of the original dragons of Norrath, residing deep within Nagafen's Lair in the Lavastorm Mountains. He is a classic raid target for mid-level guilds (typically level 50-60).

• Abilities: Nagafen possesses a powerful frontal cone Area of Effect (AoE) fire breath, a single-target fire-based spell, and a significant melee attack. He also has a 'roar' ability that can fear players.
• Strategy:
  • Tanking: A main tank (Warrior/SK/Paladin) should position Nagafen with his back to the raid to avoid the frontal AoE on the majority of the group. Off-tanks should be ready to pick up adds if they spawn.
  • DPS: Melee DPS should position themselves behind Nagafen to avoid the frontal AoE and maximize damage. Casters should stay at max range.
  • Healing: Clerics are essential for keeping the tank alive. Druids and Shaman can provide additional heals and buffs.
  • Fear Kiting: If the raid lacks sufficient tanks or DPS, a common strategy involves a Bard or Enchanter kiting Nagafen using fear spells, allowing ranged DPS to slowly chip away at his health.
  • Adds: Nagafen can summon fire elementals. These should be picked up by off-tanks and killed quickly.
