New Combo Points System
The Combo Points system rewards players for using a variety of attacks in succession. Simply hitting an enemy with a long combo string does not increase the score. Instead, you must use different types of attacks, such as regular attacks, Charge 1, Charge 2, etc., and land the next move before the combo score disappears. The system is similar to the combo system in Dino Crisis 2, where continuing the chain by hitting another enemy before the counter vanishes keeps the combo going.

Example Strategies for Perfect Combos:
- Zhou Yu: Start with a stun, followed by SSSSTTT juggle (46-48 pts). Jump attack while landing to hit another enemy (near 60 pts). Perform SSSTT (without the final hit for recovery time) (75-80 pts). Execute a fourth charge (ST or SSSSST) and end with his Musou. The 100 points are gained at the start of the Musou.
- Huang Gai: Similar to Zhou Yu, utilizing his three aerial hits and his fourth charge.
- Lu Bu: Start with SST, then his juggle. Hit an enemy before landing. Follow with SSSSST(T..), but manage to miss one enemy after the finishing blow. Use a Musou cancel for a perfect rating. Stable 90 pts can be achieved, but adding an ST before SSSSST(T...) might yield a perfect score.
Bodyguard Strategies
The game allows for extensive bodyguard customization through an editor, enabling the creation of four bodyguard units. Bodyguards gain experience points from stages, allowing them to level up, and players can choose their growth path. For every 25,000 experience points earned, two additional bodyguards join the group.
Bodyguard Orders:
- Attack: Standard attack order.
- Defend: Standard defend order.
- Support: Bodyguards prioritize taking out archers first.
