Sun Quan

“For the glory of our family!”

History: The first Emperor of the Wu Kingdom, second son of Sun Jian and younger brother of Sun Ce. He succeeded his brother and famously led Wu to victory against Cao Cao's larger forces at the Battle of Chi Bi.

Unlocking: He Fei stage, Taishi Ci death, Sun Quan jump event (Musou mode only). Refer to the He Fei stage strategy for detailed unlocking instructions.

Description: Wields a sword. His characterization is minimal.

• The Battle at Chi Bi 208 AD (Allies vs Cao Cao)
• Raid on the Rogue Fortress
• The Battle at He Fei 215 AD (Wei vs Wu)
• The Battle at Yi Ling 222 AD (Shu vs Wu)
• The Battle at You Ting 228 AD (Wei vs Wu)
• The Nanman Campaign 225 AD (Wu vs Nanman)
• The Seige of He Fei Castle 234 AD (Wei vs Wu)

Fourth Weapon: Acquired in the He Fei Castle stage on the Wu side. Kill Zhang He, then retrieve the special item east of the central pond. Finish the stage.

Attacks:

• Attack 1: A fast, sweeping sword strike effective for clearing nearby enemies.
• Attack 2: A standard high upward slash for juggling enemies.
• Attack 3: A short, fast dashing strike that can dizzy foes, offering good forward range but limited effectiveness against large groups.
• Attack 4: A double slash attack that clears out most enemies directly in front, useful in crowds.
• Attack 5: A powerful slash, serving as a standard high juggling move.
• Attack 6: Fires a disc of energy that can hit multiple enemies in front, easier to aim and more effective against groups than standard shockwave attacks.
• Running Attack: A wide slashing attack with good range that knocks back enemies.

Overall Assessment: Sun Quan is a well-rounded character without significant flaws, but also lacks particularly distinctive or flashy attacks. He is adaptable to various playstyles but doesn't possess the unique flair of some other characters. Despite the effort required to unlock him, he is outshone by other ruler characters like Cao Cao and Liu Bei.

Advanced Strategies: Sun Quan can be played similarly to other ruler characters. His speed is slightly higher than his father's (Sun Jian), lending itself to a faster playstyle. He possesses better crowd-clearing moves than some others. Experiment with his moveset to find what best suits your playstyle.
