Items:

1. Art of War
   Effect: Temporary items last 30% longer.
   Method: He Fei Castle Stage, Wei side. Defeat every general on the opposing side, except Sun Quan. Wait for the special item report to appear on Sun Quan's ship, grab it, then defeat Sun Quan. Alternatively, defeating Sun Quan's four guard captains may also trigger the item's appearance.
   Value: Nice boost for axes and other temporary items, but often outclassed by other item choices.
2. Bodyguard Manual
   Effect: Powers up your bodyguards.
   Method: Siege of He Fei Castle stage, Wu side. Defeat Xu Zhu; the item will appear behind him. Using a Saddle for a fast horse is recommended.
   Value: Subtle but noticeable power-up for bodyguards, especially with a larger number of them.
3. The Way of the Musou
   Effect: Allows true Musou attacks regardless of health.
   Method: Guan Yu's stage. Defeat Xiahou Dun after he starts chasing you. If not playing as Guan Yu, backtrack to find and defeat him before Guan Yu does. If playing as Guan Yu, wait for him to come and defeat him. The item drops after he is defeated.
   Value: Considered by many to be the most useful item due to the high damage of true Musou attacks.
4. Survival Guide
   Effect: Attack strength doubles when life is in the critical range.
   Method: Wu Zhang Plains stage, Shu side. After two Tiger Generals are defeated, a cut scene will play showing falling stars. The item appears north of Zhuge Liang's base. The effect triggers when knocked down in critical health, providing a 30-second attack doubling effect.
   Value: Not very useful; the effect is situational and brief.
5. Defender
   Effect: Defense strength doubles when life is in the critical range.
   Method: Wu Zhang Plains stage, Wei side. After two of your playable generals are killed, the shooting star event occurs. The item appears at the top right of the map. Requires waiting for allied generals to fall.
   Value: Marginally more useful than Survival Guide for survivability while seeking health, but generally not worth the effort.
6. Fire Arrows
   Effect: Allows shooting fire arrows that do more damage and are easier to hit with.
   Method: Chi Bi stage, Wei side. Defeat Zhou Yu before he initiates the fire attack. The item appears in the center of the map, north of Zhou Yu's location. It's recommended to go directly for Zhou Yu.
   Value: One of the more useful special items, enhancing arrow damage and accuracy, especially for players who use bows.
7. Buckler
   Effect: Prevents being overpowered while blocking.
   Method: He Fei stage, Wu side. Let Taishi Ci be killed by an arrow attack, then retreat with Sun Quan to the lower right corner. Defeat Zhang Liao when he attacks Sun Quan; he will drop the item.
   Value: Very useful for players who block frequently, especially against strong enemies like Lu Bu who can break guards.
8. Power Scroll
   Effect: Prevents losing attack locks.
   Method: He Fei stage, Wei Side. Have Zhang Liao kill Taishi Ci by having them both in the center square for a few minutes. After defeating other officers in the center, Zhang Liao will attack Sun Quan. Immediately after this, Gan Ning appears near your HQ; defeat him to get the item.
   Value: Useful for players who frequently lose attack locks. Allows canceling enemy Musou attacks with your own, leading to an easily won lockup and subsequent combo.
9. Golden Harness
   Effect: Prevents being knocked off your horse by arrows.
   Method: Tong Guan Gate stage, Wei side. Get Han Sui to defect by defeating Ma Chao's two subordinates.
