SM05: Samizdat (Executive Safes and Corporate Vaults)

Return to the elevator shaft and climb down a ladder. To the west, you'll find an electrified area and a vent beyond it. Run through the vent, leap onto a pipe to the west, then turn south to find a Breaker. Use it to stop the electricity.

Head through another vent to the north and move a Photocopier to access the Executive Services Office.

In the office, grab a Pocket Secretary from a table. Search the desk to find a “Palisade Elevator Keycard” and the eBook “Palisade: Clients & Services”.

Hack the computer (Security Rating: 3). Use the messenger app to contact Dominik Barabas. Respond with either “admit” or “deny”, ask about a “travel permit”, then choose to “bluff” to obtain a code.

Return to the elevator shaft and search a depression for another vent, which can be unlocked with Remote Hacking.

Crawl through the duct to reach Executive Safes B. This room is protected by lasers and a turret.

Use Remote Hacking to disable the laser to the east, then drop from the vent into the safe room.

Disable all lasers using Remote Hacking. Sneak north along the eastern wall, using wall protrusions for cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) from the turret.

You will reach a locked door with a Keypad (Security Rating: 1). You can hack this, but the turret will see you. Use a Multi-Tool or temporarily disable the turret with Remote Hacking before hacking the Keypad.

This opens a server room with a vent leading to the level's security room, allowing you to disable more security and access the Executive Safes A room.

Alternatively, sneak west from the door, using the depressed safes as cover. South of the stairs, run upstairs. Use Glass-Shield Cloaking as you approach the door, especially if the turret is close to detecting you, and open the door. A civilian may become suspicious, but exiting the room will resolve this. The safes will rise, and security will become passive, allowing you to hack them and the door to the server room to the east. Be aware that the turret will become hostile if it catches you hacking.

To access valuables in a hidden security room, search the wall under the turret to the south-east for a “Secret Switch”. This opens a secret room to the south.

In the secret room, hack the security computer (password “aklvd6681”) (Security Rating: 2) to disable security in Executive Safes B. Use this computer to open the door to the Executive Safes B room, pacifying security.

In this secret room, you can find Reveal Software, Stun Gun ammo, and a Biocell.

The vault to the west contains two Credit Chips and a bottle of “Neuropozyne”. Hack the Keypad to the south (CODE: 1110) (Security Rating: 2) and loot the nearby safe for a Multi-Tool and a Credit Chip.

Before dealing with the security room, focus on the three safes. The southern-most safe is in the turret's direct line of sight. You can disable the turret and hack its network (Security Rating: 5), or use a Multi-Tool. The reward is a “Praxis Kit”.

The western-most safe (Security Rating: 4) is also under the turret's gaze. Disabling the turret makes its network less complex. Alternatively, use a Multi-Tool. The reward is “Breach Software #13” and two Multi-Tools.

Hack the safe to the east (CODE: 6641) (Security Rating: 5), which is obscured from the turret. The reward is three Credit Chips.

Hack the Keypad to enter the server room. Climb into the vent on the floor and follow it to the security room.

There are two guards in the security room. You can knock out the one by the door. Wait for your energy to recharge, use the EG Switch to obscure the windows, then quickly shoot the other guard with your Stun Gun, as tampering with the EG Switch will arouse suspicion. Alternatively, drag the first guard into the vent, use Remote Hacking on the EG Switch, and wait for the other guard to investigate before incapacitating him.
