The Apex Predator is a mutated beast, a terrifying creature of speed and stealth, encountered in the 'Feral Wilds' during the 'Hunter's Mark' main quest. This boss emphasizes environmental awareness and quick reflexes, as it will attempt to ambush you from the shadows.

Phases & Attacks:

1. Phase 1 (Ambush & Retreat): The Predator will stalk you, performing quick pounces and claw attacks, then retreating into the dense foliage. It has a 'Cloaking Field' ability.
2. Phase 2 (Toxic Spit): Below 75% health, it gains a ranged 'Toxic Spit' attack that creates damaging puddles on the ground.
3. Phase 3 (Enraged Frenzy): Below 40% health, its attacks become faster, and its pounces cover greater distances. It will also summon 'Feral Prowlers' to distract you.

Strategy:

• Environmental Awareness: The arena is full of tall grass and rocks. Use your 'Scanner' ('V') to highlight its cloaked form or track its movement through the environment.
• Sound Cues: Listen for its growls and rustling in the grass; these indicate its position.
• Counter-Attack Pounces: When it pounces, dodge sideways and immediately counter-attack its exposed flank.
• Avoid Toxic Puddles: Stay out of the green toxic areas; they deal continuous damage.
• Manage Adds: The Feral Prowlers are fast but fragile. Use area-of-effect weapons or quick melee attacks to dispatch them.
• Recommended Loadout: High fire rate SMG or Assault Rifle, a shotgun for close-range pounce counters, and 'Antidote Syringes' to cure poison. 'Flashbangs' can temporarily disable its cloaking.
