Upon entering the Weald, you may receive a tutorial on hero portrait usage.

Encountering certain enemies triggers a tutorial about high PROT (Protection) enemies, highlighting the effectiveness of bleed and blight.

Always manage your torchlight; using torches can provide buffs, even during combat.

Be prepared for Cultist enemies and consider defending against movement attacks.

Bring at least 4 food, around 8 torches, approximately 3 shovels (to remove obstacles), antidotes (useful for Old Tree Curios), and holy waters (for buffs and Curios).

If you have the Crimson Curse DLC (downloadable content — extra missions or items released after launch), you might find The Blood in a Heirloom Chest, which triggers a tutorial about its use.

Remember that 4 food provides a +5% HP buff.

Prepare for spiders like Webber and Spitter by bringing Antidotes.

Killing certain enemies can reduce stress; observe the glowing white indicators above heroes' heads to track stress changes.

Corpses can be removed by dealing damage or using specific class skills. Bleeding or blight can also prevent corpse spawns. High damage can sometimes kill an enemy without leaving a corpse.

You will eventually find your first Journal Page, essential for uncovering story elements.

Manage your inventory space by equipping trinkets to heroes as soon as they are found to avoid discarding them.

You will encounter your first Trap, which can cause damage unless spotted and disarmed. Heroes with the purple trap icon can attempt removal, which can decrease stress by approximately -8.

Before entering the final room of your first Weald run, ensure traps are managed and torchlight is high (around +25 Torch).

In the final room, use Holy Water on a Pristine Fountain Curio to remove stress, prioritizing the hero with the most stress.

For early runs, choose between explore 90% or battle 100% missions to learn the area and prepare for bosses.

Ancestor's Memoirs - The Hag (1 / 3): Kill 1 Wizened Hag in an L1 Medium dungeon. Bring 4-5 Shovels, Antivenom, Skeleton Keys, Bandage, Food, Antidote, Medicinal Herbs, and approximately 8 Torches. Beast Carcass can provide food in exchange for Medicinal Herbs. Bleeding and blight are effective; stun is less so. The Hag has a Cauldron with high resistances and PROT. Focus on its low bleeding resistance. Mark it and damage it.

Ancestor's Memoirs - The Hag (2 / 3): Kill another Hag. Bring 6 Shovels, 4 Torches, 1 Antivenom, some food, Medicinal Herbs, 2 Holy Waters, 3 Skeleton Keys, and Antidotes. The Ectoplasm enemies have high resistances and can spawn minions. Consider bringing a stealth counter. The Hag has a Cauldron with increased defense. Bleeding remains effective. This encounter drops a Blueprint.

Ancestor's Memoirs - The Hag (3 / 3): Kill the Hag Witch in a harder L5 Medium run. Bring 4 Shovels (1 found), 1 Holy Water (1 found), Food, Medicinal Herbs, 2 Antivenom, 4 Torches, and 2 Skeleton Keys. This dungeon may start with a straight path. The Hag Witch is a harder battle; use bleeding. This encounter drops a Blueprint and you receive the Hag's Ladle trophy (+30% Blight Skill Chance, +40% Blight and Disease Resist) upon completion.

Kill 1 Brigand 8 Pounder. Bring approximately 6 Torches, 2 Shovels (2 found as loot), 1 Skeleton Key, 2 Antivenom, 1 Bandage, and food. You can go left or right; scouting may reveal secret areas.
