Crysis 2 Part 9 walkthrough: Investigate alien pods, find JAW Rocket Launchers, and get the Speeding Ticket.
Walkthrough
- 1Head towards the “Explore” option but continue past it to a well-defended intersection with Cell personnel and an APC.
- 2Turn right at the intersection and go past the yellow cargo container on the flatbed trailer.
- 3On the right side of the avenue, find the traffic camera on the light post above the 25 MPH sign. Run past it to get the “Speeding Ticket.”
- 4To reach the crash site, you have two stealth options: “Flank” or “Explore.” The “Flank” option is recommended.
- 5Activate your cloak and jump down to the roof below. Open the visor (your Heads-Up Display) and survey the area, noting the Cell presence and an APC gunner.
- 6Survey the “Explore” option route, which goes southeast along a patrolled avenue to a ramp leading to an underground parking structure.
- 7Pan to the “Flank” option and zoom in to see an open manhole into the storm sewer. Pan to “Ascend” to see an orange scaffold providing roof access.
- 8With “Flank” selected, close the visor and jump back to the stairwell’s landing.
- 9Go down the stairwells to ground level, cloaking as you pass the windows.
- 10If no hostiles are ahead, cloak, turn left, go to the edge of the hedge, cross the avenue, and jump down into the storm sewer.
- 11Continue to the end of the sewer, cloaking under service grates to avoid detection.
- 12At the end of the sewer, restock your grenades and find the silenced Feline sub-machine gun, an alternative to the Scarab.
- 13Cloak, jump to ground level, check your surroundings, and get behind a nearby container to fully recharge your suit's energy.
- 14Use Nanovision (a special visor mode) to identify threats ahead, beyond the yellow car, where the orange scaffold at the “Ascend” option is located. This is the safest route to the crash site.
- 15Fully recharge, walk toward the scaffold, jump to the staging, and then to the roof.
- 16Have your silenced weapon ready for potential hostiles on the rooftop. Crouch near the ductwork to recharge.
- 17Jump over the ductwork to the adjacent roof and move around the right corner toward the blue waypoint (a marker on your map you've manually placed as a destination).
- 18While cloaked, jump to the ground near the beams and enter the building.
- 19Go down the stairs, taking cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) at the bottom behind plywood sheeting to recharge. This triggers new waypoints and the objective: “Investigate the Crash Site: Examine the alien pods.”
- 20Continue forward, eliminating any hostiles on the stairwells.
- 21Use the landing near the ammo crate on the stairwell as a sniping platform to target hostiles in the crash site below.
- 22Remove the Scarab’s silencer to increase its power, which will draw the Cell forces.
- 23Use the building's cover to recharge while remaining cloaked to spot and target enemies, shooting and then ducking back into cover.
- 24This tactic will lure Cell troopers onto the stairwells and a second-story walkway. Use the Marshall (a powerful weapon) for easy kills. The Marshall has a stealth model; do not silence it, as the noise attracts more enemies.
- 25Stay on the landing near the ammo crate to deal with enemies, descending occasionally to check the walkway or lower stairwell.
- 26When enemy opposition decreases, toggle the Marshall to attach the silencer, descend to the second level, cloak, and go left around the walkway toward the Ceph escape pod.
- 27Momentarily activate Nanovision to check for hostiles, then jump down.
- 28Crouch behind the brick planter to recharge, then move toward the nearby pod and examine it. Gould expresses disappointment at the lack of alien tissue.
- 29Use the planter's cover to recharge again and move clockwise around the debris site, using brick planters for cover.
- 30Recharge in a large recess of a building about forty meters before the second pod.
- 31Cloak and move through the rubble to the second pod, finding neither has viable samples. An APC in the distance may target you if your energy runs out.
- 32Quickly move down into the crater as Gould suggests.
- 33Watch for hostiles in the crater and move right past the circular wreck to get under overhanging broken pavement, below the alien debris. This places you at the waypoint.
- 34Grab the JAW Rocket Launchers from the open weapons crate and replenish your ammo.
- 35Look into the dimly lit office to trigger the mission’s next phase.
Tips
- A careful player can reach the traffic camera without incident from the initial landing.
- With a fully charged energy meter, jump northeast across the roof, crouching under ductwork and continuing along the elevated staging.
- Recharge behind a large bundle and continue forward, going down a ramp to the intersection where you turn right to find the camera.
- You can reverse your route to return to the landing and continue the mission after getting the “Speeding Ticket.”
- The “Flank” option requires patience and stealth, involving battles with Cell troops in a parking garage, and puts you at a disadvantage with lower ground.
- The Feline sub-machine gun is silenced and capable, though it consumes ammo faster than the Scarab.
- A quick scan with Nanovision is excellent for identifying threats.
- Have your silenced weapon ready for a possible hostile on the rooftop.
- Crouch near the ductwork to fully recharge your suit.
- Take cover at the bottom of the stairwell, screened by plywood sheeting, to recharge.
- Remove the Scarab’s silencer to increase its power and draw out Cell forces.
- The Marshall weapon, when unsilenced, attracts more enemies quickly, drastically reducing the number of defenders.
- Stay mostly on the landing near the ammo crate to deal with enemies, descending occasionally to check for hostiles on the walkway or lower stairwell.
- Use the brick planters for cover as you slowly circle the crash site.
- “Speeding Ticket” (collectible)
- Feline sub-machine gun (weapon)
- JAW Rocket Launchers (weapon)
