Guide to Command & Conquer: Generals China Mission 1, "The Dragon Unleashed." Learn how to establish your base, destroy the GLA, and utilize new units effectively.

Alright, welcome to China Mission 1, "The Dragon Unleashed." This one's set in Stuttgart-Vaihingen, Germany, and it's pretty straightforward – classified as Easy, with a Fun Factor of 6. Your main goals here are to establish a solid base and then wipe out the GLA forces in the area. This mission is also where you'll get introduced to Listening Outposts, which are super useful.

Basically, the GLA has been using China's resources, so China launched a nuke. Problem is, a bunch of GLA folks survived and are still hanging around. Your job is to clear them out. If you played the last GLA mission, the map layout will feel familiar, but now it's just you and the GLA, and the map's a bit smaller.

First things first, let's get your base set up. In the General's Window, make sure you have Artillery Barrage, Red Guard Training, and Carpet Bomber selected. Start building your base – get your Construction Dozers working! You'll want to upgrade your Overlord tank to have a Speaker Tower, as you can't produce any other special units for it. Once that's done, start pushing east to take out the initial GLA units you encounter.

Grab those Listening Outposts and get them into your squad – they're great for spotting enemy movements. Start training a good number of Red Guards. Your next move is to head south and capture the abandoned USA outpost. Once it's secure, start churning out Crusaders from there. Push east and north, clearing out any GLA resistance you find along the way. Make sure to capture any Tech Structures and the four GLA vehicles you come across.

Keep advancing north and clear out the village. Be super careful here, as the GLA loves to set up Demo Traps, so scout ahead! Next, you'll move towards the town to the east. Again, watch out for Demo Traps and any Garrisoned Buildings the GLA might be using for cover.

With the southern part of the map cleared, it's time to push north and secure the three main access points to the GLA's main base. Clear out any remaining Demo Traps guarding these routes. When you feel like you're ready for the final push, assault their base! Your Inferno Cannons will be key here – use them to take down their Artillery Platform first, and then just level the entire place to finish the mission.
