Learn how to defeat Maria and her Valkyries in Chained Together. This guide covers boss weaknesses, Mirror Image gimmick, and strategies for victory.

more Sky Armor to fight on this path, but they have two Hammer enemies now. Focus on one at a time to take them out and you'll see they were guarding a chest. Open it for the OVELIA FO400 armor. Probably an upgrade.

Head south now and take the only other path to us. There are three of those "Baki" enemies here. Again, not too hard, but take out one at a time to make things much easier. After you beat them, be sure to check out the southern cubby for the OFFENSIVE DRONES O400 and make your way to the next floor.

Up here, go east first for a chest for the KERBEROS FK400 frame. I like this one for melee fighters. Head south now and make your way around. There is a northern path here that has the AGAMEMNON FA400 in it. Past that is a fight with FOUR Baki enemies. Very hard, but it gets easier as you kill them. Blind Shot is great here, as can any hit-all abilities.

Take them out and continue to the north. Note the first path to the left has the ELEVATOR to leave the area, so ignore it and go north first. There's a fight coming up with two elemental enemies, so be sure to take one out very quickly (do NOT use Silence Shot on them... remember only magic attacks work on them). They are guarding the GREAT SWORD GS400 in a chest behind them, so nab it and head back to the elevator now to continue on (if you can, put on any "hit all" abilities that you can onto your Sky Armor).

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Maria & Valkyries are strong to Wind and weak to Water.
• Valkyries deal around 500-550 damage per hit when not using Mirror Image.
• Maria deals around 700-750 damage per hit when her Valkyries are present.
• Maria's "Falling Spears" hits all party members for 400-450 damage.
• Maria's "Break Arms" inflicts the "Inact" status.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Maria and Two Valkyries
   • Valkyries prioritize applying "Mirror Image" to Maria.
   • Focus on taking out one Valkyrie at a time.
   • "Hit all" abilities are effective at removing multiple "Mirror Images" at once.
   • Poison can be applied to Valkyries once their images are gone.
2. Phase 2: Maria Alone
   • Maria will use "Mirror Images" on herself, creating up to four images.
   • Continue to focus on removing images and dealing damage.
   • Poison can be effective against Maria.

Strategy:

• Prioritize eliminating the two Valkyrie Helpers first.
• Utilize "hit all" abilities to efficiently remove "Mirror Images" from all enemies.
• Apply Poison to the Valkyries after their images are cleared to help wear them down.
• When Maria is alone, focus on removing her "Mirror Images" and attacking.
• Conserve TP by resting when necessary, especially for your healer.
• Be prepared for prolonged healing if needed.

After the fight, you can move onwards and we'll have some scenes with the King... we'll see his plan here as some DRAMATIC things happen. I didn't really see this scene coming, to be honest.

We'll get even more scenes as we head up to the roof and see what happens with the Grimoire. Just the mere act of Gwayn TOUCHING the thing has made the Vaen absolutely crazy. They will summon their "Champion" who rises from the ocean and immediately attacks several cities. Oh wow...

You can summon your airship from here and go face him right away of course, but you can also go buy items. Honestly though, you can get through this fight with minimal preparation. I was low on items myself, so I went and bought things. You should really SAVE here too, as the note below will warn you!

(-NOTE-) There is a GAME-BREAKING BUG with this upcoming fight. I've had this boss fight freeze on me twice. It actually only worked when I killed the "Metal Crystal" followed by the "Magic Crystal" as soon as possible. This is actually the o
