Part 91

Start the Quest: First things first, we need to head to the Fiorwoods, specifically the town of Iden in the southeast. You might remember this place from when we fought Arlette earlier. As soon as you enter the inn, your party will notice Arlette is missing. The townsfolk mention she's smuggling food, so they think she's looking after an animal. This officially kicks off the 'A Will to Live' side quest. Your first objective will be: Search for Arlette in the west of the Fiorwoods.

Search the West Fiorwoods: Open up your map – the western part of the Fiorwoods is our target. There's a Fast Travel Crystal there, which is always handy. While you're at it, you might want to hit up any crystals on the upper walkway. Your main goal, though, is to head into the search area, take down some dragons, and then make your way to an open area just to the right of the leftmost dragons.

Arlette's First Location: Once you reach that open area, you'll trigger a scene. You'll find Arlette, but she'll quickly run off again, heading south. Your map will update, and your new objective will be: Follow Arlette to the lake in the southwest of the Fiorwoods.

The Lakeside House: Head to the southwest area of the Fiorwoods. You'll recognize this spot – there's a house in the middle and a forbidden area with a boat to the southwest. Go to the house first. Another scene will play out, and you'll find Arlette here, along with someone you might not expect to see again: Raphael.

Raphael's Struggle: After this scene, you'll understand the quest's name, 'A Will to Live.' Raphael is clearly going through a tough time, having lost his will to live. He'll eventually leave, and you'll head back to the inn in Iden. Talk to the residents there, and you'll learn that Arlette has apparently gone to the Kortara Mountain Range, likely after Raphael. Your next objective is: Find Arlette in Kortara.

Kortara Mountain Range: Make your way to the Kortara Mountain Range. The map will show you the new search area. It seems Arlette isn't giving up on Raphael. Once you're in the northeast section of the designated circle, another scene will trigger. The ground will start shaking, and after some dialogue, Raphael and Arlette get trapped underground!

Collect Food for Arlette: Now, you'll take control of Raphael. Arlette is showing her persistent nature. Your objective changes to: Collect food (0/4) and bring it to Arlette afterwards. This is where you'll need to find four blue mushrooms.

Go north to find the second mushroom. (MUSHROOM 2/4)

From there, head left and down a narrow path to find the third mushroom. (MUSHROOM 3/4)

Go back up, then head right. Follow the northern wall, pushing against it where possible. You'll find a hidden passage that leads to the fourth mushroom. (MUSHROOM 4/4) You'll also find 5 MEALS here.
