Learn how to defeat the powerful Karkun boss in its Sky Armor form and discover hidden treasures in the Arkant Archipelago, including the Wind Tablet, in this Chained Together guide.

Alright, let's get ready to take on Karkun, that giant Kraken you've seen before, but this time it's in its Sky Armor form and way tougher! Don't worry though, with the upgrades we've got, this is gonna be a solid fight.

The main thing to remember here is Karkun has three distinct tentacles: a Magical Tentacle, a Healing Tentacle, and a Physical Tentacle. You know the drill – the Healing Tentacle is our top priority because it can restore about 5,000 HP to the boss. Just a heads-up, all these tentacles are weak to wind and resistant to water, which totally makes sense for a giant octopus, right?

While you're busy taking out the healer, the other two tentacles will be attacking. Try your best to silence the Magical Tentacle if you can; it'll let you focus on the healer more easily. Also, if you're able, try to rotate the INACT status effect between the tentacles – it really helps. Keep in mind that when a tentacle goes down, the boss will use 'Tentacle Rage,' giving the Physical Tentacle an ATK UP buff for three turns. The Magical Tentacle gets a 'hit all' buff too, also for three turns. Still, fewer tentacles means less trouble!

Let's quickly cover the Physical Tentacle's attacks: it can use 'Tentacle Pierce' for around 1,400 damage. That's pretty much its main move. The Magical Tentacle can hit you with a weak water attack or 'Tentacle Splice,' which deals about 1,200 damage.

So, to wrap up this fight: keep those status effects rotating, focus on the Healing Tentacle first, and just heal through any damage you take. You'll have this boss down in no time. After that, take out the remaining tentacles one by one, managing your heals and keeping the overheat bar in check. Honestly, it's not a super tough fight, especially at this stage of the game. You'll snag a [_GRIMOIRE SHARD_] at the end, which is always a nice bonus!

Once Karkun is down, you can explore the area freely. There are four chests waiting for you. The most important one is the [_WIND TABLET_], a crucial end-game item that will come in handy later. You'll also find a chest with [_14,896a_], another with [_REPAIR KIT DX x2_], and a third with [_21,999a_]. That's some good cash if you're running low!

Now, let's head over to the Arkant Archipelago to explore L'Yehr Village, the 'Hidden Village.' You can get here now because your Hermit's Isle is fully upgraded. Alternatively, you could find a merchant in Ograne Grotto, but we haven't been there yet.

Enter the village from the southeastern screen and chat with the doorman – he'll recognize you thanks to your upgraded island. Once inside, take your time to explore. It's not huge, so I won't hold your hand too much. You can actually enter some houses from the back; do that to find [_RAINBOW ORE x8_]. In the upper-left house, there's a book to read. From there, head right, south of the bridge, and push into the southeast wall. It's super tricky, but you can actually go through this wall to find a chest containing [_MALTET_], a spear for Lenne.

Keep heading right, go north, and follow the path upwards to a golden chest! This one holds a rare [_SOUL OF FARNESE_], which, as you know, is needed for those ultimate weapons. Head back and go to the southwest corner of the upper area. Press into the wall again here, and you'll find a chest with [_BLOOD STONE x4_]. Now, press into the left wall near that chest and head north to find another chest with a [_TEKKO_] – this one's much better hidden!

And that's it for this area! Just some good treasure to grab.

Finally, let's tackle a side quest called 'No Place for Happy Endings.' I think you could have done this earlier, but we're saving it for now. To start it, head to Flandern in the Kortara Mountain Range. From there, go north near the Fast Travel Crystal to trigger a scene with Gustaf and Robb. Enjoy the cutscenes!
