Hello and welcome to the guide!

As a fan of DRPG genre and someone who knows the source material(novel) - I wanted to try it out and see if anything good comes out.

Sadly as with 99% other games based on popular franchises - this game is pretty barebones in it's genre.

I can't really recommend the game, so if you didn't buy it yet - consider it heavily. Most of the other DRPGs out there are somewhere from a bit to A LOT better.

Did you complete all Experience Inc crawler games(aside of Ray Gigant which is kinda meh like this game)? Did you complete Galleria/Refrain? Did you play through Mary Skelter series? Did you play through Etrian series? If answer to either of those is no - you certainly got some much better options.

Why so?

Story - if you know the novel/anime - you won't find anything new. All scenes are lazy screenshots from anime rather than drawn artwork.

If you don't know the novel/anime - it will be quite hard to make sense of the story. You would have to read extra 'library' section and even that doesn't always cover everything.

Spoilers warning - game starts from a quite spoilery moment directly from quite deep into novel/anime. Anime season 2 end and Novel volume 12 specifically.

Why did they spoil 'this'? Probably that's how they wanted to 'feed the story' of this game. As a 'memory recollection' of Rudeus's journey.

As for the promised 'new/original content' - I think they meant some pointless side quests with a few lines of dialogue.

Performance - performs really poorly regardless of how powerful your PC is - it will most certainly not be stable 30 FPS/sometimes drop lower than that. It will also hog resources of your PC like mad in general. For a game that looks like it should perfrorm well on potato - it's very badly optimized basically.

QoL - some modern QoL is missing. For example you need to hold button to run rather than it being setting. Controls are not customizable. Many more minor issues.

Difficulty/customization of party - even on hard difficulty game lacks any challenge. Characters are 'premade'(each got own set of skills) and you only have 3 party slots, hence depth of combat is essentially nonexistant. You can farm skill points(AP) infinitely and skills can be reset at any time in the game when not in battle.

On a positive note - difficulty only affects damage taken, so enemies don't suddenly become 'sponges'.

Content - game takes ~30 hours to 100% on hardest difficulty. Very small for DRPG genre.

But if you still want that extra dose of dungeon crawling and all this doesn't stop you - welcome to the guide!
