Discovering The Island: Tortimer Island

After meeting the prerequisites, Isabelle will inform you that Tortimer is visiting.

Find Tortimer on the dock on your town's beach.

Tortimer will tell you about his island and that you can visit it starting the next day.

Speak to Kapp'n at the dock to travel to Tortimer Island for 1000 bells per trip.

Upon arrival, you will be in an exotic shack.

In the shack, you can register for tours, purchase items from the gift shop, or barter with lil' Leila.

Anything you find on the island can be sold to Leila for a low price; it is not recommended unless necessary.

Place any valuable items you wish to keep in the basket next to the front desk in the shack.

These items can be collected from the basket by the dock when you return to your town.

Be aware that any items you are carrying when you leave the island or go on a tour will be sold to Leila at a low price. Place all items (except rental gear) into the basket before leaving the shack or starting a tour.

Outside the shack, next to the door, a gyroid will loan you equipment.

You can borrow a net to catch bugs, a fishing rod to fish, an axe to chop trees, a shovel to plant tropical fruit, and a diving suit to dive into the water.

Use the borrowed gear to catch valuable animals like beetles and sharks.

Sell these valuable catches back on the mainland for a profit.
