Master Part 14 of Age of Mythology with our comprehensive walkthrough. Learn strategies for defeating Circe's Fortress, managing resources, and advancing through the ages.
Walkthrough
- 1Concentrate your forces to destroy Circe's Fortress. Bring a large force as her spells can destroy weaker units.
- 2After victory, you enter the Norse portion of the campaign. Watch the tutorial for their military uses.
- 3Part 14 - North: The heroes are in the frigid north and face a Cyclops' trap.
- 4Initial wolves are dangerous to most units except Amanra and Arkantos. Move Arkantos' group south to meet Amanra's; do not move other groups.
- 5Avoid fighting every wolf; skirt around them if possible. Leave the first settlement alone but collect its artifact.
- 6Gather all heroes together. Build a Town Center over the lower-middle settlement (you should have uncovered three). Norse soldiers build structures.
- 7Boom by creating 10-12 gatherers for wood and food. Dwarves mine gold. Fend off attacks until you advance to Classical. Forseti is a useful minor god here.
- 8Completely wall your settlement using mountains and trees for defense. Build gates on each side. Medium throwing axemen can attack over walls.
- 9Upon advancing to Classical, cast the healing spring spell. Build a Longhouse and create more troops, primarily Throwing Axemen. Trolls are also useful ranged units.
- 10Create 5-10 more gatherers to build farms around your base. Research Plow (economic upgrades for Norse are on ox carts).
- 11Build houses with soldiers and max out your population. Advance to Heroic when you have sufficient food and are not under heavy attack.
- 12Upon advancing to Heroic, use the Dwarven Mine god power for free gold.
- 13Destroy the three temples on the map, starting with the purple one to the left. Build a hill fort out of range of the gate and use portable rams to destroy the gate and hill fort. Expect a large unit attack after destroying the gate.
- 14Norse gain favor from fighting. Use it to create myth units.
- 15Heal and reinforce your units before heading to the green temple. Use the same strategy: build a Hill Fort near the gate, use portable rams to destroy it.
- 16An artifact is located between the green and red temples. Norse heroes can pick up artifacts and build a temple next to them to store them.
- 17Head for the red temple, the most defended. Build town centers on settlements along the way and consider more Longhouses and temples.
- 18Break down gates and destroy buildings and enemies. An artifact is here. If struggling with the Town Center/Hill Fort, use more portable rams or ignore the position and focus on destroying the red temple to win.
- 19Part 14 - The Dwarven Forge: Chiron suggests passing through dwarven mines to reach Midgard.
- 20Head north and claim the settlement by building a Town Center. Keep heroes close due to regular myth unit raids.
- 21Scout with ulfsarks to find three passages into the mines. Wall them up, leaving one open to channel enemies.
- 22Build gates to allow heroes to deal with myth units and concentrate on building a sizable army of Hersir.
