Coastal Forest - The Search Begins

After the dramatic escape from the cave, Lara finds herself in the dense Coastal Forest. Your primary objective here is to locate Sam, who has been separated from the group. The forest is a relatively open area, but don't let your guard down; Solarii cultists patrol these woods.

• Initial Path: Follow the winding path forward from where you emerge. Keep an eye out for salvage crates and collectible documents.
• First Encounter: You'll soon come across a small clearing with a few Solarii. This is an excellent opportunity to practice your stealth takedowns. Crouch in the tall grass and use your Survival Instincts (press L1/LB) to highlight enemies and interactive objects. Aim for headshots with your Bow for silent eliminations.
• Salvage & XP: Always loot fallen enemies for salvage and experience points. Salvage is crucial for upgrading your weapons and gear at base camps.
• Climbing Section: You'll reach a section where you need to climb a series of ledges and a broken ladder. Use the yellow-marked surfaces as indicators for climbable areas.

After navigating the Coastal Forest, Lara will enter the treacherous Mountain Temple area. This section is heavily guarded and requires a more cautious approach.

• Approach to the Temple: As you approach the temple, you'll encounter a larger group of Solarii. Consider using a combination of stealth and ranged combat. The Pistol can be useful for quick follow-up shots after a stealth takedown.
• Temple Exterior: The exterior of the temple features several patrol routes. Use the dense foliage and crumbling structures for cover. There might be a Relic or Document hidden in a small alcove or behind some debris, so keep your Survival Instincts active.
• Entering the Temple: Find an entry point, often a broken wall or a climbable section. Once inside, the environment becomes more confined, favoring close-quarters combat or careful stealth.
• First Temple Chamber: The first major chamber will likely have several Solarii. Pay attention to their patrol patterns. There's often an elevated position you can use to pick off enemies with your bow without being detected immediately.
• Environmental Hazards: Be aware of environmental hazards like crumbling floors or unstable platforms. These can be used to your advantage against enemies, but also pose a risk to Lara.
• Sam's Location: You'll eventually find evidence of Sam's presence, leading you deeper into the temple. The narrative will guide you, but always be on the lookout for hidden paths or optional areas that might contain salvage or collectibles.
• Boss Encounter (Optional/Mini-Boss): While not a full boss, you might encounter a more heavily armored Solarii here. Focus on breaking their armor with well-placed shots or using explosive objects in the environment.
