Complete walkthrough for the Spirit Medallion quest in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, including rescuing carpenters, finding collectibles, and navigating the Gerudo Valley and Haunted Wasteland.
Walkthrough
- 1Gerudo Valley Bridge: The bridge to Gerudo Valley is broken. You can cross using the Longshot or by leaping with Epona.
- 2Foreman's Tent: Speak to the foreman in the tent. He needs his kidnapped workers back. Find Gold Skulltula #87 on the cliff wall behind the tent at night. Bomb rocks south of the tent for a Purple Rupee and find Gold Skulltula #88 on the cliff wall.
- 3Jailbreak - Carpenter 1: Intentionally get caught by a Gerudo to be thrown in jail. Grapple onto the wooden canopy outside your cell. Enter the bottom-leftmost door, defeat the Gerudo guard with Deku Nuts to stun her, and attack with your sword to get a Small Key. Free the first carpenter, Ichiro.
- 4Jailbreak - Carpenter 2: Exit the cell and enter the doorway to the right. Navigate past guards (stun them with arrows for convenience). Turn right and proceed up the ramp. Exit to the second-floor balcony. Peek around the corner, stun the Gerudo guard, and enter the door on her ledge. Defeat the Gerudo inside to get a Small Key and free the second carpenter, Jiro.
- 5Jailbreak - Carpenter 3: Exit through the other door to a third-floor ledge. Ignore the doorway and drop down the nearby ledge. Enter the door to find another prisoner and a Gerudo guard. Defeat her for the Small Key to free the third carpenter, Sabooro. Exit the way you came.
- 6Jailbreak - Carpenter 4: Enter the door previously ignored up the vine wall. Use the Hookshot on ceiling beams to pass the Gerudo below and head up the stairs. Exit outside, drop down, and enter the doorway. Defeat the final Gerudo guard for the Small Key to free the fourth carpenter.
- 7Gerudo Token: Freeing all four carpenters earns you the Gerudo Token from a Gerudo guard, allowing you to explore the area without being caught.
- 8Valley Collection (Optional):
- 9Piece of Heart #33: Return to the room where you Hookshotted across the ceiling. Exit and climb the ledge to the side. Play the Scarecrow's Song to summon Pierre, then grapple onto him to reach the Piece of Heart at the top of the fortress.
- 10Gold Skulltula #89: Play the Sun's Song to make it night. Look on the back cliff wall near where you summoned Pierre.
- 11Gerudo Archery Challenge: Head east to a tent with a Gerudo woman. Pay 20 Rupees to start. Score 1000 points to get Piece of Heart #34. Score 1500 points to get the Biggest Quiver (holds 50 arrows). Focus on hitting targets quickly, then hitting targets on the side wall.
- 12Gold Skulltula #90: Make it night. Head to the target at the end of the path (without playing the challenge) to find Gold Skulltula #90.
- 13Wasteland Waddle:
- 14Access: In the fortress area, climb the ladder next to the north gate and speak to the woman to pass through.
- 15Haunted Wasteland Navigation: The area is quicksand with poor visibility. Use your Longshot to grapple to visible boxes. Follow the path of flags.
- 16Desert Tent: At the end of the flags, you'll find a building. Light the torches for a Purple Rupee. Find Gold Skulltula #91 inside.
- 17Big Poe Guide: Equip the Lens of Truth to see a Big Poe. Follow it for the final stretch of the Haunted Wasteland.
