Learn strategies for defeating Galleom, Duon, and Porky in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Includes tips for dodging attacks and dealing damage.

Galleom

Galleom's attacks primarily target the upper body, so staying close to his feet while attacking is recommended. Be wary of his slow, powerful uppercut, which hits low and should be dodged if possible. When Galleom stiffens his body, he is about to flop down; air dodge to survive this potentially lethal move. His most damaging attack is a spin attack, signaled by raising both arms high and outward. He also transforms into a tank, either rushing you or firing missiles. If he fires missiles, stay low and attack him. If he rushes, jump over him. At low health, his driving attack ends with a fatal slam from above. While not all moves are covered, the dangerous ones are detailed. Galleom has an even split between damaging and avoidable moves, with a weak life bar making him manageable despite occasional bad luck.

Duon

Duon focuses on dealing high damage, rarely killing before 100% but possessing many hard-to-avoid, damaging moves. When his blue side faces you, he uses swinging attacks that are difficult to dodge up close; characters like Fox can exploit his laser from a distance. When his pink side faces you, he unleashes a barrage of projectiles. Jumping and air dodging are key to avoiding most, but if seeking missiles are fired, jump over him and try to lead them back into him, as they deal significant damage and offer a chance to escape with less harm. His spinning attack is also very hard to avoid and deals massive damage; shield and roll away if caught. Shielding this move directly will likely break your shield, but perfect shields followed by a roll can reduce damage. While precise, conservative play might work for characters like Jigglypuff, an offensive approach is generally recommended for characters like Charizard and most others, as avoiding damage for long periods is difficult. Duon is an easy target, so focus on dealing damage quickly. Avoid getting on top of or behind Duon, as while he has trouble hitting you there, his hits are more likely to kill and he is harder to damage from those positions.

Porky

Porky, also known as Pokey Minch to Earthbound fans, is a challenging boss. His slow back-and-forth movement allows him to hit you near his bottom, making damage avoidance difficult. His rapid pincer jab at the start can deal over 50% damage; if caught, influence away from him directionally to avoid a kill. If you have an ally, one can jump over him while the other stays back, allowing the one who stayed back to attack his other side while he's occupied with the rapid attack. Porky often charges a laser above his head, a difficult-to-avoid move that sweeps quickly and targets you precisely. If playing with a friend, he may switch targets mid-shot. If you cannot finish him before the laser fires, run far away, jump, and air dodge through it to potentially reduce hits from four or five to one. He also charges quickly; leap over him and avoid being dragged off the arena. He deploys small, exploding robots that are hard to avoid; try to stay away and jump and air dodge. His final attack involves flying up and slowly moving back and forth while shooting a laser down; run back and forth and roll to dodge. This offers little opportunity to damage him but is easy to avoid. Like Duon, defeating Porky quickly is advised, as prolonged fights lead to significant damage. Porky can be buggy: if he dies as he's about to fire his laser, it can still hit you without a graphic. If his robots are deployed when he dies, they remain active and can still hurt you.
